Colourful silk textiles compiled in a scrap book. Textiles are glued to a page and are labeled in Japanese. Scrap book is made of black cardboard and has silver metal corner edges. The inscription "Japanese Textiles" in handwritten on the cover with black marker. On the back cover of the scrapbook written in gold lettering is the inscription: "Scrap Book."

Geta sandals with softwood soles, black velvet straps, tin strap fasteners, and stamped metal knot covers. The underside of the right sandal (part b) bears a stamped paper label.

Deep blue kimono (着物) with wide, short sleeves and centre opening. The lower half of the kimono is embroidered with cherry blossoms, pine trees and bamboo in gold, white and pink on a deep blue ground. The upper half has a single gold flower on either side of the opening. The inside lining is red and padded with cotton known as fuki (袘). It has five family crests or kamon (家紋) in the shape of sekichiku flowers (China pink/Dianthus chinensis) known as sekichiku (石竹).

Gold streaks and blue bamboo-like leaves on black background. End of sash at beginning of roll is a seam. The other end has Two sets of parallel gold bands and a plain black seamed edge. One edge running the length of sash is seamed, the opposite edge is folded.

Wooden geta sandals with striped red and white velvet thongs, metal thong knot covers, and red and white peonies painted on the soles.

Plain black velvet lined with white flannel, brass fastenings.

Rectangular purse with red, gold, green, blue, and magenta flowers on white background. Zipper closing has matching fabric tab.

Blue robe with rounded neck, slender sleeves, hoofed cuffs and side opening with frog closures. There are side slits in the sides, back and front. On the front and back are five-toed dragons and bat motifs and various Buddhist and Taoist symbols in white, red, yellow and green on blue ground. There is also a ‘walking dragon’ on the inside flap. The collar band has dragon, bat and cloud motifs in gold, red and blue on a black ground. The sleeves are gold and brown striped with dragon, bat, wave and cloud motifs on the cuffs. Some details are woven in ‘vicious violet’ Ko-ssu throughout the garment. The inside lining is light blue silk.

Hanging formed by panels of peony, chrysanthemum and prunus design fabric in blue, orange and metallic thread on black. Brown silk lining.

Hanging composed of panels of orange with some smaller off-white silk squares. The hanging has brocade floral arrangements of bamboo, peonies and narcissus in baskets and vases. The brocade design is embellished with floral and leaf motifs in gold thread. Lined with off-white brocade.
