Tapa Cloth3130/4

Small, rectangular tapa cloth adhered to a board of the same size. Patterns are geometric designs in black on the raw background. In the centre of the piece are three large images: the middle is a repeating geometric design surrounded by raw space with S-shapes, dots, wavy and straight lines, and thick black triangles. Next is a border consisting of triangular patterns, thick black lines and dots in the middle of the triangles. The next design includes 4-sided shapes and triangles made out of dots. Next there is a design with a raw space centre surrounded by wavy lines. The next image is repeated on both sides of the piece. It includes a circular image consisting of a flower in the centre, 4-sided shapes, wavy lines, on the four corners there are ¼ circles with triangles made our of raw-space squares. There is a border around the three large images that includes triangles made out of thick black lines. Next there is another border consisting of mirrored triangles, dots and short lines. The outside border includes a repeating deign of straight lines, wavy lines and triangular shapes.

Tapa Cloth3130/3

Small, rectangular tapa cloth adhered to a board of the same size. Patterning is black geometric designs on the raw background. In the centre of the piece are four-sided shapes with a black border. On the outside of this are three stacked triangles. From the centre point outwards the designs are mirrored on the long sides and later on the outside. The next design out from centre-point is a black triangle under another triangle. Topping this are two black motifs followed by three wavy lines. The next design has heavy black wavy lines and is in a triangular shape. Next there is a large section that includes diamond shapes, triangles, wavy lines and the use of blank space. Bordering the object is a narrow design with wavy thin and thick lines, including arrows and dots.

Tapa Cloth3130/2

Small rectangular tapa cloth adhered to a board of the same size. Patterning is geometric designs in black ink on raw, uncoloured background. Centre panel is made up of diamond shapes filled with a variety of patterns. Surrounding this are triangle shapes coloured rust-orange, along with densely patterned triangles. The tapa is bordered by a repeating motif of black and rust designs on natural ground.

Tapa Cloth3032/2

Almost square tapa cloth with geometric patterns in dark and light brown on a medium brown base. Designs are organized into two repeating, vertical halves, each with 5 repeating horizontal rectangular patterns. Each of the ten rectangles are similar, with a thin strip with two horizontal bars at the left side, then 2 squares with cross designs inside, one with a black circle at the centre, followed by two thin rows of diagonal lines in light brown. There are also several thin strips of zigzag lines in light brown running through the other designs. Half of the squares with crosses have a light brown lined background, the other half have a light brown diamond pattern. A dark brown ,heavy cotton border is attached to both side edges; a wooden bar is attached across the back upper edge. Heavy black paper is attached to (but breaking off of) the lower back edge.

Tapa Cloth3032/1

Rectangular tapa cloth with geometric patterns in dark and light brown on a medium brown base. Designs are organized into an 8 x 6 grid of squares, outlined in dark brown. Each of the squares contains a diagonal cross piece design, some as filled in lines and some as thin, stretched ovals (propellor-shaped). Two rows have black cross-hatching covering half of the background of every other square. Three sides have a zigzag patterned border. A wooden bar is attached across the back upper edge.

Long, rectangular tapa cloth densely covered in triangles, scalloped circles, oblongs and other shapes in regular repeating patterns, inside a dark interior linear border. The outer boarder is a regular pattern of small ovals enclosing sets of triangles. The decoration is printed in dark brown and black on a natural background.

Tapa cloth painted on one side. Intricate design of open form crossed lines that create large and small diamond shapes, each filled with a dense pattern of dark painted curved lines emanating from several four-petalled flowers. A solid border is painted around the entire edge.

Large tapa cloth with three rows of geometric designs in tan and dark brown against a medium-brown base. The patterns alternate between an hour-glass shape and a thick, diagonal tan line decorated with dark brown triangles. Rows are separated by a line of four pairs of elongated triangles.

Rectangular tapa cloth with dark brown geometric designs on a tan base. Dark brown lines divide the cloth into a 4x6 grid. The designs in each row alternates between pinwheels and six-petal flowers with each square in the same column having the same pattern. There is a large brown area near one of the edges.

Tapa Cloth2947/18

Long, rectangular, mostly un-pigmented tapa cloth. One medium-brown column along the side with faint geometric patterns in tan. Beside the brown decoration is a brown partial hand print. There are patches of brown pigment on the un-pigmented area. The cloth’s edges are wavy and irregular.
