Petroglyph rubbing on long fiber tissue paper with black ink. From "Descriptive Catalogue of Petroglyph Prints for the University of Washington from the Dalles Reservoir, 1956" by Mark Hedden in Archaeology Archives. "Quadruped monster with antlers, apparently, & snout. The 'antlers' may be separate design of concentric arcs with rays. The 'snout' also, as concentric arcs turned on one end. The base design, a sheep which has been elaborated on."
Sandal made from twisted, woven sagebrush bark, with woven sole and 'upper,' and a series of loop laces. Sandal found in Silver Lake Cave I, Fort Rock, Oregon at entrance to cave. In its original state, sandal was caked with mud - was since cleaned by Bergen. Associated fragments: Accn. #341, Cat. #1-31226 and one box of fragments with no catalog number. A. Ground stone adze, with incised grooves on either side, running lengthwise down the middle. It is broken across the end opposite the tip. There also seem to be some flake-like removals from the faces, but they could be use-damage or post-depositional. Pecking apparent on the sharp edge.
