Cover page has a printed inscription that reads: "NIHON-BASH Fifty-five prints depict the post stations between the starting point of the Tokaido at Nihonbashi in Yedo or Tokyo and its end at Sanjo in Kyoto. Distances from Tokyo are still officially measured from this ancient starting point." This inscription is accompanied by Japanese characters on the top, side and bottom of the printed message.

A main design consisting of a stylized red wolf-like figure on a purple background bordered by black around each side, which has three blue crosses within each, and the black top, which has a blue cross within at either side of a curred cut out mid-section. The head is in profile and is facing towards its inward curving tail. Pencil inscription along the bottom edge reads '1/75 The Adoption of Robert Davidson J. David - 92'. The print is on a horizontally rectangular, white paper piece.

One arm is drawn separate from the body and the forearm and biceps are separate from each other as well.
