This is one of a series of reproductions of the "53 Post Stations on the Tokaido Hwy. from Nihonbashi to Kyoto (Hoei-do edition)". Print is matted on a piece of white-yellow paper and has an additional cover page that folds over the print. Printed inscription on the cover page reads: " KANAGAWA A part of the present Yokohama City. The atmosphere of a post station prevails in this print. The female beckoners recall the novel "Hizakurige" by Juppensha Ikku which was popular in the days just preceding Hiroshige." Japanese characters on the top, to the side, and on the bottom of the printed message.
