The Fifty-Three Post Stations of the Tokaido HighwayN2.1204

Print of a scene with two people standing on a path amongst some trees. There are round, grey mountains in the background. Depiction of the Hiratsuka Station (#7). This is one of a series of reproductions of the "53 Post Stations on the Tokaido Hwy." from Nihonbashi to Kyoto (Hoei-do edition). The print is mounted on a yellow-white matte paper and has a cover page that flips over the image. The cover page has a printed inscription that reads: " HIRATSUKA Just beyond the present Hiratsuka Station, approaching Oiso, on the Tokaido Railroad Line. The round-topped mountain is Mt. Komayama; Mt. Fuji and Mt. Oyama are to the right." There are Japanese characters on the top, the bottom and the side of the printed message.

Long rectangular print with black printed outlines and painted vermilion colour. Print is of Sukeroku, the hero of a Kabuki drama. He wears a black robe with a lobster motif and orange borders. Cool Evening at Ryogoku, a Triptych795/59
