Pair of black sandals with red V-shaped fibre straps. Rectangular-shaped with rounded edges and straight sides. Front end is undercut. On the underside of the sandal near the front, there is a round brass coloured flower-like piece attached with two metal pins. The red fibre straps are threaded through to the hollow underside of the sandals and are secured together by light-brown fibre cording.

Jacket382/4 a

Short white jacket with striped sleeves. The jacket is made of shiny white fabric with a woven pattern of small flowers and stems in white and silver. The centre opening has front panels that overlap to the right when tied closed with two long striped ribbon ties. The front edges are extended with panels from the mid-point of the outer facing made of the same rainbow-striped fabric. The garment has a deep V neckline edged with an appliqué rainbow-striped facing. The left outer facing is rounded at the lower edge, while the right is straight and projects beyond the front edge of the garment. The neck is finished with a narrow outer facing or collar of white paper covered with sheer fabric. The long sleeves are deeply set in with a straight seam and a convex curve on the lower edge, narrowing to the wrist. They are made of brocade woven in six different colours stripes parallel to the body of the garment and embellished with flower, bat and butterfly motifs and stylized Chinese characters woven in red. Thin white inner ties are sewn to the inner right inner facing and the left underarm seam. The inner lining is white nylon mesh, with an interfacing of coarser nylon mesh.

Child's Skirt382/3 b

Skirt made of one and one-half panels of shiny red brocade with a background pattern of full and half roundels with a stylized Chinese character surrounded by cloud-like patterns, with smaller curvilinear patterns between. The skirt is open at the back, and is lined with red nylon transparent fabric. The panels are pleated and inserted into a band of similar fabric but with a floral pattern. The upper edge of the band is scalloped, with the points of the scallops meeting the ends of two shoulder straps of the nylon lining. On both sides of the back opening are embroidered simple yellow chrysanthemums with green stems and leaves, and with a border at the side and bottom of green leaves On the centre front near the bottom are embroidered two Chinese characters in blue, one above the other. On each side of the characters is embroidered a phoenix facing the centre, with five long tail feathers in green, white, blue, yellow, and turquoise, with metallic thread throughout.

Child's Jacket382/3 a

Upper body garment made of bright yellow and red shiny fabric lined with red nylon transparent fabric. The long sleeves are deeply inset with seams curving outwards towards the underarms, and are made of brocade woven in stripes in six different colours parallel to the body of the garment. Embellished with flowers, bats, butterflies, and stylized Chinese characters woven in red. The seam of the sleeves, under the arms, has a pronounced convex curve narrowing to the wrist. The body of the garment curves downwards to the centre front and back. It opens at the front. The front panels overlap to the right when closed and fasten with long ribbon ties made of the same fabric as that at the wrist. The left panel and the centre back seam are edged with red piping. The lower point of the left panel has an appliquéd motif in red approximately the shape of a heart with pink flowers and green stems embroidered above. A phoenix facing the centre of the garment is embroidered on each side with multicoloured thread. Red panels are inserted under each arm. The garment has a deep V neck outlined with an appliquéd red facing outlined in black piping, as are the seams attaching the sleeves. There is also a narrow facing or collar of white fabric.

Pair of white socks (part a-b). The sock has wide ankles, rounded heel and foot angled downward. Two layers of fabric are sewn together around the edge. The outer is of heavy white nylon fabric, and the inner layer is heavy white cotton fabric. The cotton layer has a machine stitched hem at the top. A gold and red paper label is pasted on one side of each sock.

The centre opening overlaps to the right when fastened with long green ribbon ties. The deep V neckline has appliqué green facing. The left outer facing is rounded at the lower edge, while the right is straight and projects beyond the front edge. The neck is finished with a narrow outer facing or collar of white paper covered with sheer fabric. There is a seam down the centre back. The long sleeves are set in with a straight seam and a convex curve on the lower edge, narrowing to the wrist. There is a green band around the wrists. Thin green inner ties are sewn to the right inner facing and the left underarm seam. The inner lining is fine white nylon mesh, with an interfacing of coarser nylon mesh.

Green skirt of open weave. The skirt is made of two panels of green nylon fabric woven with roundels enclosing a floral motif and stylized character. The skirt is open at the back and lined with white nylon mesh. The panels are pleated and inserted into a green band. The green nylon band is woven with small roundels enclosing stylized characters and lined with white cotton gauze. The pleats carry through to the edge of the band on the left side, but not the right. The upper edge of the band is straight, but the white cotton gauze lining projects above it in slight scallops. Attached to the scalloped points are two shoulder straps of white cotton gauze. At both ends of the band are sewn narrow ties of white cotton gauze, roughly machine stitched with white thread.

The garment has a deep V neck outlined with an appliqué red damask facing. The left outer facing is rounded at the lower edge, while the right is straight and projects beyond the front edge. The neck is finished with a narrow facing or collar of white paper covered with sheer fabric. The long sleeves are deeply inset seams curving outward and a convex curve on the lower edge, narrowing to the wrist. They are made of brocade woven in six different coloured stripes parallel to the body of the garment and embellished with flower, bat and butterfly motifs and stylized characters woven in red. The ends of the sleeves are made of red damask with roundels enclosing a bat motif and stylized character. Thin white inner nylon ties are sewn to the inner right inner facing and the left underarm seam. The inner lining is yellow nylon mesh with white interfacing.

The left outer facing is rounded at the lower edge, while that on the right is straight and projects beyond the front edge of the garment. There is a narrow outer facing or collar of white paper covered with sheer fabric. A narrow green inside tie is attached to that point, with the corresponding tie attached to the left underarm seam on the inside. There is a seam at the centre back of the garment. The long sleeves are deeply inset and are made of strips of patterned nylon fabric forming stripes in six different colours parallel to the body of the jacket. The stripe closest to the body of the garment is red and is angled outward at the bottom to form an underarm panel. The inner lining is white nylon mesh with an interfacing of coarser nylon mesh.

The upper edge of the band is straight but the white lining shows above it in slight scallops. Attached to the points of the scallops are two shoulder straps of white cotton gauze. At both ends of the band are sewn narrow ties of white cotton gauze.
