Cantonese Opera HelmetN1.815

A gold painted conical helmet with openwork floral and scroll designs, and "tiles" around the whole of hat with the openwork around the upper portion, and the "tiles" around the lower portion. There are three flaps, one at the back with two at either side. Circular mirror reflectors attached to designs and flaps: seven in a flower-like pattern on the back flap, three in a triangular-like pattern on each side flap, one on each of the four quadrants of the hat itself, with another at the bottom front.

Oval-shaped wooden plaque with figures carved in relief laid over the surface. Imagery consists of a legendary fu dog with inlaid glass eyes under a flowering peony. Colours are predominantly gold, blue, red and green. Two metal rings for hanging are attached on the reverse along the upper edge.

A vertically rectangular painted stone plaque of an outdoor scene with a scholar in a pavilion and two students resting just outside with a tree in the middle. Colours are red, green, brown, and white. All figures are carved and inlaid. The effect is of a stone bas-relief on a wooden ground. Has a dark brown-black wood frame with an ornate metalwork design at the top. Some stone pieces are cracked or loose.
