Polychrome cup with rounded base and straight, cylindrical body. Feline deity painted design in light yellow-white ground with elongated eyes, rectangular mouth with tongue outside, face whiskers and strings of disks hanging beside the head. Feline figure is holding a trophy head with its right arm, a stick with the other and is wearing a cape with five horizontal bands, and mice and plant designs in outer border. The middle band has black dots and the body has one elongated eye in the middle. Cream, orange-brown, grey, red-brown, orange, black, dark purple and light yellow paint. Molded manufacture; polished surface. Breakage repaired.

Polychrome female effigy bottle with bridge handle connecting conical spout and face. Face design with lenticular eyes, opening on top of head, nine braids to back and four different designs on both arms: (1) Semi-oval designs with dots in the interior and protrussions on top are surrounding inverted triangular shaped face; (2) geometric bird design; (3) female face with long hair; (4) band with ten orange-brown and red-brown dots in the interior. Female with both arms at front, carrying a child with face in relief on her chest. Five head designs with proliferated motifs at lower-front and side of body. Snake design at back with two eyes, line with dots in middle-curved body and triangles in outer borders. Light beige, black, red-brown, orange-brown and white paint. Polished surface; partially hand-built ceramic. Slightly broken.

Polychrome jar with slightly rounded base. Wide-mouthed, tall cylindrical body. Five painted horizontal bands: (1) fourteen stepped motif in grey and orange-brown paint near rim on cream ground; (2) ten circles in orange-brown and white paint on black ground; (3) triangular motif in orange-brown, light beige, red-brown, cream and grey; (4) ten circles in orange-brown and white paint on black ground; (5) six trophy heads with long black hair and orange-brown faces, divided by vertical orange-brown lines on cream ground. Polished surface; molded manufacture.

Tapa Cloth3103/29

Large painted tapa cloth. Design is painted in a grid of 6 rows long by 3.5 rows wide. Almost entire cloth is stamped with dense designs in a reddish brown pigment. Darker designs are painted over that. Lower layer shows light brown wavy and diagonal lines, boxed circles, flowers, etc. Of the more dominant grid patterns, the top band is split in two with a small square of hearts one side and a square formed from triangles on the other; the next band shows designs made from diamonds and flattened triangles; the next shows an oval, formed by two crescent shapes, in between two single crescents with a four pointed star and a diamond on either side. The three bands then repeat again. The rough, frayed edges of the textile are unpainted.

Large, heavy jar. Wide open mouth narrows at neck, then flares in middle before tapering to small flat circular base. Black patterns painted over yellow background, forming rounded squares and triangles. Darts with leaf shaped ovals run around the neck of pot. Base and inside of pot are red clay. Unglazed.

Drum3100/9 a-b

Drum and drumstick. Round drum (part a) is made of skin stretched over a circular wood frame and nailed to secure along the frame’s bottom edge. On the underside, thin strips of hide are connected in 4 places to the frame and come together in the centre, tightly wrapped around themselves, to join at a small wood handle. The face of the drum shows a painted lightning-snake design, with a large centrally placed head showing bared teeth and curling hair in red and blue, the long thin body wrapping around the outside edge of the drum top. Part b is the drum stick, consisting of a long wooden shaft, rounded, and a leather covered head attached by a leather strip wound around the stick's neck.

Double polychrome spout bottle with bridge handle, undecorated base and polished surface. Painted deity design with lenticular eyes, rectangular mouth, mustache, beard, sideburns and two proliferous heads on cape. Anthropomorphic figure holding a stick with right hand and wearing a black band at his waist. Band on lower bottle body of ten frontal faces and "x" marks between them. Dark red-brown, black, brown, white and grey paint; red-brown ground. Well preserved.
