Plate shows a monochromatic image printed on glass of a nighttime scene of a town at bottom, with tall architecture, trees, foliage and a river reflecting moonlight. There is a sharp colour separation between this and a dark sky, which holds a crescent moon at top. Paper label reads "Dissolving Views – Aurora No 1".

Plate shows a coloured image printed on glass of an erupting volcano, fire and ash spewing forth, lava running down the mountain face, setting fire to a small settlement. In the middle ground is a town on the shores of a body of water, a crowd of town’s people watching the volcano, and small boats full of people floating on the water. In the foreground on a small bluff is a small group of men pointing at the volcano. Stamped in wood: "W.E. & F. Newton / Opticians & Globe Makers to the Queen...London"

A deep grove has been cut horizontally into the wood on the back of the slide, with a small metal clamp opposite. The plate shows a coloured image printed on glass of river with small rapids. A man stands on the bank fishing. Behind him and to either side of the river are bushes, and tall buildings with white or yellow walls and red roofs. A dark sky with clouds and a full moon can be seen at top centre. Stamped in wood: "W.E. & F. Newton / Opticians & Globe Makers to the Queen...London"
Single lever lantern slide. A rectangular wooden frame holds two round glass plates, one on top of the other, at centre. On the frame’s back right, a large triangular groove is carved into the wood to allow for the up and down movement of a brass handle attached to the rear plate by a brass ring. The front plate shows a coloured, printed image of a man and woman harvesting wheat. The man holds a scythe. The back plate has a printed image of the man’s arm, his hand holding a whetstone. When the plate is moved by the lever, it appears that the man is sharpening the scythe. Stamped into wood is "W.C. Hughes / Optician / 151 Hoxton St / London".

Modified hemispherical greyware bowl decorated on the exterior sides with vertical serpentine motifs in alternating orange-red and cream-coloured paints. The bowl has been completely broken and reconstructed, and there are some small pieces missing.
Terracotta jar in the shape of a hunchback human figure. The figure wears a hat, with a chin strap, which flares wide to the open rim of the jar. There is a wide depression on the interior back lip for pouring. A hump protrudes from the top centre of the figure's back, the arms are bent at the figure's side, there is a round pendant on the chest, and the feet are bare. The details of the face are incised, and the ears, nose and chin protrude. There is faded painted decoration visible near both shoulders. The jar has been broken and repaired.

There is faded painted decoration visible on the chest to either side of the pendant, the back of the head behind the right ear, behind the right shoulder, as well as below the figure's left arm. The figure's right foot has been broken and repaired.
Terracotta bottle with a closed, rounded wedge-shaped body with a flat base surmounted by a closely arched tube with a vertical spout at the top. The body is decorated with orange anthropomorphic figures holding trophy heads on a cream-coloured heavy slip ground.
Terracotta olla with slightly flaring neck, vertical strap handle with top node, bell-shaped body that widens to a gambrel base and polychrome slip decoration. The decoration covers the neck and body, and is done in red-brown, cream, pale orange, orange-brown and black slip. There is a band of cross-hatched diamonds on cream at centre, and geometric decoration with stepped triangles above and below. Approximately one third of the lip is broken and missing, and there is a crack near the gambrel at one side that has been repaired.
