Jester Mask2946/96

Pepino mask. Fabric mask in white with a large red heart on each cheek. The tip of the nose and curved lips are painted red. There are red and white diamonds, outlined in black, across the chin. Two white ears are stapled to the sides of the face. There are three foam triangles at the top of the mask in pink, white and green. The hem on the front is done in yellow thread.

Jester Mask2946/92

Pepino mask. Fabric mask with a half-yellow, half-black face. The nose and curved lips are painted red. There are red, black and yellow diamonds on the chin and a large red heart on each cheek. At the top of the head are three foam triangles in pink, white and yellow. White ears stapled to the sides of the face. The back hem is stitched in white thread, while the front is unstitched.

Rey Caporal Mask2946/3 a-g

Black and gold "Rey Caporal" mask (part a) with large bristly black beard and silver pipe and hat. Blue eyes are framed by fine gold tinsel. The mouth has six white teeth and a thick bottom lip, which fades from pink to blue and is decorated with white and black stripes. The tongue is red with a silver border. Curling black hair wraps around the back of the head into the beard. The beard has a white, tarp-like backing. The hat has a box at the front, resting on the brim, which contains five tubes for the five woolly sticks (parts b-f). The sticks alternate colours without the outside and centre sticks having yellow tops and brown bases, and the other two sticks having white tops and yellow bottoms. A cardboard placard (part g) with gold trim sits in front of the sticks.

Snow Goggles2930/9

Pair of wooden snow goggles with a hide strap. The goggles are short, wide and slightly curved. They have a rounded indent at the centre for the bridge of the nose. The slits are long and extremely narrow. The back of each of the eyes and the inside of the slits are painted back. The goggles have two holes on both right and left for the hide string, which is looped through and knotted on each side.

Dark brown wooden figure of a man playing a square drum. The face has simple, stylized features with a triangular nose and deep set almond shaped eyes. The faded black hair is parted down the centre of the head. The figure wears a parka with the hood worn down around the neck. He holds a thick wooden stick against the underside of the drum. The drummer is positioned at the back of the medium-brown base. "KA24" is written on the bottom of the base in pencil, along with a faded black stamp that reads "Eskimo Craft Charles Camsell Hospital Edmonton".

Vessel2847/64

Tall terracotta footed tricolour vessel. It is narrow at mouth, flaring toward a deep rounded shoulder. A tall, hollow pedestal is included in the formation, flaring at top where it meets the body of the pot, as well as at bottom. The pot is decorated with encircling strips of delicately painted patterns, consisting of swirls, geometric designs, and colour blocks. The interior of the pot is unpainted.

Pot2847/19

Terracotta painted trileg pot with animals. The round pot is somewhat squat and bulbous, with a concave neck and slightly flared rim. At the back, a rounded, open handle is attached at rim and shoulder. Opposite is a small creature emerging from the pot’s neck, with a large head and snout, curving arms, and large feet. On each side of the pot at the shoulder is a small head, similar to that of the creature on the front. The pot sits on three conical legs, each with grooves carved through to a hollow centre. The pot is decorated with a series of criss-crossing lines on the body, and diagonal lines on the interior of the neck, in a light orange colour.

Ocarina Musical Instrument2847/17

Clay ocharina in a donut shape, thick and round with a central hole. The inside is hollow with two small holes bored on each side at top. At the front is an animal head(?) with two protruding circular eyes, an ear to one side (the other has been lost) and a large square nose. A windway is bored through the head from top to bottom rear, with a windcutter below. On the opposite side is a forked tail with a thick base, each fork curving and narrowing to where is connects again to the body.

Witch Mask2946/21

Small pink witch mask with long, beak-like nose and blonde hair. The eyes are wide and almond shaped with irises that fade from dark brown around the edge to yellow near the pupil. The cheeks and eyebrows have multiple groves. The mouth contains a set of square, white teeth below the red-brown upper lip. The round chin juts out from beneath the bottom lip. Blonde hair is curled around the sides and top of the mask and curls through the nostrils. The back is lined with foam around the eyes and nose. Black elastic is looped through holes on both sides of the mask.
