Cylindrical, white earthenware jar with indented waist and flaring, flanged lip. Central dark yellow oval medallion enclosing a phoenix over a cup. There is blue scrollwork overall. Inscribed across the cup is "SEMPER EADEM". Inscribed below with medallion is "ILL.D.SVC.ROS."
Opera hat made of paper covered in black velvet. The hat is in two parts, the front is domed with a semicircular groove at the top, and the back is domed with a nearly flat front surface and rises above the front piece. The two pieces are hinged together with a leather strip across the seam, and there is a rope tie on both sides at the bottom rear of the front piece. A piece of black ribbon runs down the front of the back piece. There are two black sockets, one on either side, and there is also one socket at the bottom rear.
Large, wood, rectangular shaped shield with rounded corners. The surface is painted with the union jack flag. The underside is concaved and has a fibre handle consisting of many pieces of braided rope wrapped together with a piece of cotton fabric. Along one of the sides is an electrical cord, cut and tied into a knot at either end. Adhered to one of the corners is a flattened red and yellow tin can that reads: ‘Globe, Drippings, Product of Australia’. Covering almost half of the back is a nailed, large piece of metal. There are large cracks through the shield that have been repaired with adhesive, metal ties that protrude from the surface.
Three-dimensional figure of St. John the Baptist standing in a white, arched niche, wearing an animal hide (camel hair?) tunic. Figure has a fan shell in his left hand, and part of a broken staff in his right hand. There are yellow outlines on the arch top, above the blue section over the arch, and around the green area behind his head. Figure has a yellow halo. Partial inscription on a banner wrapped around upper portion of staff: "Ecce Agnus Dei" ("Behold the Lamb of God"). Unglazed back.
