Three-dimensional male humanoid puppet: large head (part b) fits into body with skirt (part a), and a control rod (part c) with a long shaft that passes through the body and fits into the neck of the figure's head. The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. White face positioned downwards: straight, pointed nose, red lips, and exposed small white teeth. Heavily outlined, somewhat large white eyes. Black hair, facial details. Large curl (gelung supit urang) headdress in black and green with gold sumping and diadem. Other colours: yellow, white, red. Small single hair curl (kendit). Gold neck and upper torso; arms with green and red ornaments at biceps and wrists. Hands held flat and bent back at wrist. Black chest covering with yellow trim, sequins and beads. Black apron with red waistband, brown wavy trim, sequins and beads. Long batik skirt with drawstring (blue, brown, and beige).

Two-dimensional male humanoid figure; large head and jointed arms attached to controlling rods. Face and body in profile; black face with incised features, long curved nose, large round eye, red lower lip and white teeth, hair and beard. Large crown (mahkota) headdress with diadem, karawista, Garuda Mungkur (short tongue), siyung jawi, and white badong (wing-like ridge). Neck and body gold; arms have ornate wrapped ornaments (red, white, green at biceps; white, red, and blue at wrists). Hands held clenched with blade-like appendages. Upper body has pink and green wrapped garments; extremely detailed skirt and apron over widespread feet with black upturned shoes. Base has inscriptions '1965 Oktober' on one side, and Javanese on the other (possibly an identification).

Child's Flat FanEd1.183

A small flat, rectangular fan with two lobes at the top. On a frame of very fine bamboo strips radiating out from the centre of the lower edge where the handle is mounted. Both sides are covered with paper and are lacquered green with a painted black design like a paper cut around near the handle are mounting, enclosing an orange painted design shaped like a half-marquise. Straight wood handle is painted red and split to allow insertion of fan.

Wooden, carved bear mask with a long snout painted red and black with white edging and detailing. The muzzle is hinged with a piece of fibre twine on either side. There is twine on the inside of the mask that connects to the jaw allowing it to open and close. The face has blue and black edging and green ovoids around the black eyes on white background. The mask is painted black, blue, green and red.

Black chest covering with red trim, beads and sequins. Black apron with yellow waistband and yellow trim, beads, sequins, and long yellow fringe at bottom. Long brown, blue on beige batik skirt.

Carved ape headdress of dark stained wood. The face has protruding eyes, a long nose and large bar-like teeth in a huge grimacing mouth; large ears. The face is contained within a heart shaped line forming the brows and cheeks and converging at the mouth. Horns are represented by two spider-like animals carved on top of the head. The back has a wire hanger placed inside a large scooped out area. Remnants of white paint on two of the teeth. Small cracks on face and brow area.

Helmet MaskAe55

Headdress with eyes set beneath an overhanging brow. Above the brow at the centre is a round, knob-like protrusion with ear-like carvings on either side. Deeply grooved areas representing hair (?), run from the protrusion to the back of the head. The long nose extends down from the brow. The cheeks are bulbous, and the mouth is at the bottom of the headdress with a protruding upper lip and two sets of teeth depicted. The headdress has three holes: one on each side and one at the centre on the reverse with string attached.

Raven RattleA2467

Shaped as a raven, holding a red disc in his beak. Handle projects from the tail and is formed of two pieces of wood bound together with plant fibre cord. On the raven's back are carved a reclining otter ? with a kingfisher against his knees and a frog on his stomach, with which he is exchanging tongues. Otter faces toward the handle.
