Belt2666/6

White belt with sequined designs. The belt is wide and rectangular with no fasteners. The design has floral motifs in pink, blue and green sequins. The edges are lined with yellow and gold sequins and a silver sequined geometric pattern. The inside is stiffened with cardboard and lined with white cotton.

Lace-Making Pattern1350/36

Pattern for making bobbin lace, consists of a strip of parchment which is perforated with pin holes and marked with pencil in a 'fan' lace design. Tabs made of medium blue linen or cotton textile are attached at each end. The initials of the pattern-maker, written in ink, are located at one end. Wrapped as a bundle in a piece of blue tissue paper, secured with a steel straight pin. A descriptive label, hand-written in ink on a scrap of white paper, accompanies the item but is not attached to it.

Trident Spear1704/9

Cantonese opera, long-handled trident. The shaft is made of a cylindrical-shaped piece of wood, which joins to a tapering metal shaft at the top of which is a straight, vertical metal spike with four sides, and a flat, crescent-shaped piece of metal with pointed ends.

Stylized dog with a bottom (part a) and a top (part b). Its head is on its right side and facing forward. Face is white with black hair and curly tendrils. The neck is adorned with a twisted gold-coloured rope decorated with an alternating pattern of three blue, and of three red dots outlined with white and tied at the back. The tail curls inward. Decorated with green, brown, blue, red, and white landscape scenes, cranes, and fans on a gold-coloured background.

House with garden. The main house has a thatch roof with a dark log on top which has longitudinal sticks attached by four black vertical string ropes. There is a smaller side house to the left of the main house. To the right of the main house there is a tree with a fence in front. Another tree is in the opposite corner. A smaller tree is in front of the tree to the right of the main house. There is a long fence with an opening at the front.

Shokunin Ezukushi: JinN2.1130 a-o

Volume III, titled "People", of a three volume set (with N2.1131, N2.1132). The volume has ten prints that illustrate various arts. All are wood block printed in basic colours of orange, black, green, white, and gold. Many pages are detached from the binding. Each print is preceded by a title page with central Japanese characters indicating what is depicted in the print. Translations are in pencil below these characters. The first print (part i) is titled “Sword Maker”. It depicts a household scene with an old man sitting on the front terrace dipping something into a bucket of water while inside behind him, there are six other people behind him, four who are around a fire and two who are sitting at a long rectangular bench. The second print (part a) is titled “Arrow Maker” (part l). It depicts six men making arrows: two inside a house, two kneeling on the terrace, and two outside. The third (part c) is titled “A Maker of Lacquer Work” (part b). It shows 5 people inside a house and one on an outer porch. All are performing tasks related to lacquer work. The fourth (part d) is titled “Carpenter” (part m) and it depicts six people involved in various aspects of carpentry. The fifth print (part e) titled “Tatami Maker” depicts seven people with two working outside on baskets and carpets, a woman on an outside bench caring for a child, a person carry water through the door, and the rest in the house. The next print (part f), “Embroidery Worker”, depicts five people with three women working around a table doing embroidery while a man is working on the right side on the top floor. Another man is appearing to doze while sitting on the bottom floor. The seventh print (part g) is called “Put on a Pattern” and it depicts nine people. Eight women are inside the house doing sewing work and one man is sitting on the outer terrace with a fan in his hand. The eighth (part j) is titled “Straw Worker” and it shows a man on a bed surrounded by hanging straw mats while a woman is carrying a bucket of water and a tray of food toward him. The last (part h) is called “Bag Maker with Fur” (part k). It depicts six people in a house with many animal skins hanging on the left wall. Three people are inside working with fur three are outside on the terrace, two men working on objects and another kneeling by their sides. Covers are parts n and o.
