Tapa Cloth3439/5

Small rectangular tapa cloth. Solid rectangular border. Within, two rows of repeating designs - repeating narrow oval shapes, tapering to a point at each end, with repeating triangles within and flanked by petal shapes that curl inwards to the ovals. Only one side of cloth is painted.

Joss paper hat-style offering. Circular frame composed of stiff paper, with a tent-like section folded down at centre. The paper has a bold pattern of black hexagons with white flowers within, and a bright blue in the space between hexagons. There is a half-circle gold-coloured imitation foil decoration on one face of the hat.

Gift Offering3396/23 a-i

Small box (part a) of paper noshi awabi (stretched abalone) offerings. Each noshi consists of folded paper, white on one side and red on the other, with a strip of dried abalone down the centre. There are three bundles (parts b-d), and five loose offerings (parts e-i). The open box is covered in striped paper, with Japanese characters written across a short edge, and a small cutout on either side.

There is a light pink with green imitation foil floral decoration, partially outlined with an orange ribbon at bottom centre. Rain Cover3396/25

Rain cover or galmo composed of oiled paper folded into a v-shape with accordion folds on either side. The closed pointed end is wrapped with a small piece of oiled paper, and tied with fibre. A length of twisted cord runs from the tip, through the centre of the folded paper, and out the open end. It is tied together to form a loop, with several smaller loops within. The paper opens like an umbrella, and is cone-shaped when open.

Picture Frame3421/7

Carved and painted picture frame holding a coloured photo of the Goose Bay Cannery, behind glass. Each side of the frame has a pole with (top to bottom): seated eagle with wings folded in, downward-facing whale, and an Indigenous man depicted with long braids. Along the top is an eagle with its wings spread, and along the bottom is a sisiutl (double-headed serpent) with a central face of a supernatural being.
