Child's pants in red fabric with white edging and a three-dimensional design depicting a green rabbit-like figure with protruding pink eyes as well as four insect-like figures in multicoloured fabric. The figures are painted with facial features in black and are embellished with embroidered lines. Two thin red fabric straps emerge from the back and fasten with two clear buttons at the top front.

Multi-coloured embroidered and beaded square textile. The embroidery is predominantly orange, with deep pink and purple accents, worked in chain stitch on green silk background; the design field is divided into four identical quadrants, separated by rows of gold metallic braid. In each corner of the textile, and in the centre, are prominent multi-coloured discs (known as ‘dress flowers’); each disc is decorated with glass beads arranged in concentric circles around a small mirror. All edges of the square are trimmed with a short, heavy fringe of white glass beads. The discs are stiffened, probably with light weight cardboard. The piece is backed with red cotton textile.

Square shaped, light green, silk textile with an embroidered design of a red outlined vase with navy writing on it. Coming out of the vase is green foliage and gold, dark orange and light orange flowers. On either side of the vase is green and gold cup-like object. On top is a blue, red, orange and gold bird-like motif. Textile is mounted on a piece of paper.

Dragon Robe1458/53

Dark blue 'longpao' robe with an open weave. The robe has a round neck, tapered sleeves with hoof cuffs and a side opening with brass frog closures. There are slits in the centre front and back. On the front and back are five-toed dragon, pearl, fire, bat, cloud, mountain, wave, coral, rhinoceros horn, circular and rectangular gold ornament motifs as well as the Buddhist symbols of good fortune. The motifs are gold, yellow, red, blue, green and white on dark blue ground. There are nine large dragons in all; three on the front and back, two on the shoulders and one on the inside flap. The collar border has a dragon, pearl and cloud motif on black ground, edged with a gold geometric band. The sleeves are brown with hoof cuffs embroidered with dragon, pearl and cloud motif on black ground and edged with gold braid. The inside is unlined.

Costume ChestEdz1834 a-d

Large red trunk with rounded lid and black metal studding along the top edge and sides. On the front is painted “Made in Kumlon Chang Co., Chong Yueneong Street, Canton” in yellow. Beneath the lettering is a yellow number "3" and circle with red flowers and green leaves. Flanking the circle are green vertical stripes with yellow Chinese characters. On the left side is a yellow Canadian Pacific Express Company prepaid sticker. There are metal rings, hooks and handles on the four sides. The inside of the trunk is covered with paper, painted brown. There is a black leather strap nailed to the lid. There are three boards (part b-d) that fit across the top.

Cantonese Opera ArmourN1.683 a

Black armour robe with slender sleeves, epaulets and a side opening with brass frog fasteners. Below the waist, the armour divides into one front panel and three back panels. On the front are fu dog, butterfly, cash, sun and prunus motifs in silver, green, pink, red, purple and orange on a black ground. The collar band has butterfly motifs in silver, pink, yellow, green and white. The sleeves have butterfly, peony, prunus, and swastika motifs in silver, pink, white, blue, purple and green. On the back are bat, fish, endless knot, peony, prunus and chrysanthemum motifs in silver, pink, purple, green, blue and orange on a black ground. On each of the large back panels there are five tassels in yellow, green, orange, light and dark pink. On the front are three large tassels in orange, yellow and pink. There are green glass eyes, tin reflectors, white fur and hexagonal mirrors on the front and back. The inside lining is white cotton.

Embroidered floral appliques adhered to a sheet of yellow-white paper. There are two corner pieces with brown-gold bases, green leaves and white flowers. Some white flowers have black centres. There are two curved centre pieces with brown-gold branches, green leaves and white flowers.

Embroidered Applique1458/7

Embroidered appliques adhered to a sheet of yellow-white paper. The bat is purple, pink and dark blue with wings that have a scalloped edge to one side and curl at the ends. One wing has a bluish tinge. Beneath the bat are two flowers and blue-green leaves. The smaller flower is pink with pointed flowers. The larger flower has four oval-shaped petals with holes in the centre. The petals are white-yellow on the inside and dark blue around the outside.

Embroidered Applique1458/9

Embroidered appliques adhered to a large sheet of yellow-white paper. The centre piece is a figure in a white robe holding a Ruyi sceptre and sitting upon a blue-green dragon. There is a second figure holding a green banner while leaning on the dragon's tail. The surrounding pieces create an outdoor scene with a road, black fence and greenery. Among the scene are symbols including bats, butterflies, a pair of scrolls and a pair of circular gold ornaments.
