It has bands of rainbow striped fabric around the edge or brim, base of crown, top of crown, and up each side. The bands are outlined with woven undulating gold ribbon. Metallic sequins in floral and leaf shapes in green, silver, and gold are adhered to the surface. Long string attached underneath on both sides, on which are strung red, green, and white plastic beads. Small red cardboard cylinder on one side of base of crown.

The lower edge where the handle is attached is straight and at right angles to handle. Fan is covered with yellow lacquered paper on both sides. The area surrounding the handle on one side is covered with a black paper cut in a floral pattern, and the area immediately surrounding the handle is painted orange. The fan has a narrow edging of black paper. It is inserted into a split in the handle, which is flat and shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with a rivet.

Woman's jacket, or blouse, made of greenish-gold sheer silk with small peacock feather motif in grey. There is a narrow facing or collar of white cloth-covered paper around the neck. The left outer facing is rounded at the lower edge, while the right is straight and projects beyond the front edge. Long sleeves that curve upwards at the wrists. The centre opening has front panels that overlap to the right when tied closed with two long wide ties. One small white tie is attached to the right inner facing with a corresponding tie on the left underarm seam. The inside lining is a loosely woven, sheer white fabric, through which edges of an interfacing can be seen.

A papier-mache mask painted gold with red decoration. There is a headdress. The bulging eyes ar cut out, and so is the rectangular mouth with four fangs and teeth. Another bulging eye is sideways in the middle of the forehead. There are fibre string knots at the back.

A hat of brown paper pointed at top and with four sections projecting from centre folds. When opened flat, the hat is triangular with points truncated at the base. An extra layer of paper with a serrated upper edge is adhered to the lower edge of the hat with another serrated strip adhered to the bottom edge of hat. Faintly visible bat shapes cut out of brown paper are adhered over the midpoint of each fold. A red paper-cut is adhered to the top of the hat.

A straight-cut robe that goes with sash (2503/3 b). It is made of light green gauze with a front opening and high side slits, which are faced on the inside with red binding. The sleeves are made of bands of cloth that are vertical when the arms are extended, in (from the body outwards) red, pale pink, medium blue, pink, light green, red, cream, and blue. The sleeve ends have red facings. The lower ends of the sleeves are rounded. Two front panels meet at the centre and do not overlap. Neck opening is edged in red silk and has narrower edging of white silk pasted to paper which is somewhat soiled. Front edges, bottom edge, side slits, and neck are all faced with bands of red gauze.

A three sided green patterned folder with light brown lining. English name printed on folder with four rows of Japanese characters, a red seal with Japanese characters and a gold vertical of gold paper. Two fasteners made of ribbon and ivory.

Silk, rectangular shaped textile sample with a different floral pattern at either end and blue borders at both ends. One floral pattern is rounded light pink and yellow flowers and greenery. The other floral pattern is pointed red flowers with matching green leaves. Japanese symbols are printed on one side of the latter floral pattern. Textile sample has been covered with a paste adhesive and is hardened and wrinkled.
