Doll (a) representing a male figure carved out of wood with articulated shoulders and ankles. His face and hands are painted white with painted black hair, eyebrows, eyes, a drooping moustache and a chin beard. He wears a separate black paper hat (b) with a narrow brim and black silk ribbons that tie in a bow under his chin. A nail at the top of his head helps keep the hat in place. He wears a long sleeveless blue silk vest, gored and pleated under the arms, and fastened with a dingle button over a gored long-sleeved white silk coat fastening with ribbons tied in a single loop. Beneath this are an under-jacket with blue ribbons tied in a single-loop bow and under-trousers. His ankles are wrapped in white material, and he wears pointed shoes made of paper (?) covered with white cloth and painted with black linear and looped designs at the front and back.

Vejigante carnival mask of painted paper mache construction. Mask is mainly painted yellow, with cut-out holes at the eyes and mouth. The eyes are outlined in a red dotted design, with yellow and red flame-like brow projections above. Six long curved horns project outward at the top and sides, four green at the sides and back and two multicoloured at the top. The snout has a large open mouth with two upper white canine teeth. Vejigante carnival mask of painted paper mache construction. Mask is mainly painted orange, covered in red and gold dots, with cut-out holes at the eyes and mouth. There is an eye-mask like swath of red across the eyes with red and yellow flame-like brow projections above the eye holes. Six long curved horns project out around top and sides, four orange and two red, and each side has red and gold ribbons tied at the side holes with one gold ribbon tied across the inside, for wearing. The snout has a large open mouth full of pointed white teeth with pink gums. Signed and dated inside.

A papier-mache figure of an Ecuadorian Highlands peasant woman ready to plant potatoes. The figure is wearing a grey-white hat, and a grey-white shawl that has been secured with a metal, light yellow straight pin. She is also wearing a green shirt, a brown apron with a pocket, and a long pink skirt.

The spruce root is natural and blue.

Stiff headdress of shiny white fabric decorated with silver sequins (a), and including four additional numerous components that insert into the central portion of the headdress. The front is rounded and flat on top, with an oval disc of white plastic at the centre front. The back half rises at a right angle to the front and is bulbous and rounded at the back. Inserted into the bottom of the centre back are two wing-like projections (b,c), rectangular with rounded corners. Also inserted into the headdress, at the sides, are two leaf-shaped projections (d,e).

Folded pink hat (part a) with pompoms and sequined designs. The upper portion of the hat is stiffened with cardboard and decorated with large white plastic beads and three rows of red pompoms with yellow stripes. On the front is a sequined peony motif in yellow, white surrounded by gold. On the back are sequined cross motifs in gold and white. Around the edges is a thin gold and yellow sequined border. There are two black ties attached at the bottom. The inside has an internal wire support and is lined with black cotton. Part b is a red pompom with a yellow stripe attached to a long metal loop.

Folded bright pink hat with pompoms and sequined designs. The upper portion of the hat is stiffened with cardboard and decorated with white plastic beads and two rows of red pompoms with white stripes. The sequined design has large peonies in orange surrounded by gold on the front and back, with a similar border around the lower edge. There are two black ties attached at the bottom. The inside has an internal wire support and is lined with white cotton. Part b is a red pompom with a white stripe attached to a long metal loop.

Horse costume consisting of a paper mache mask (a) and rump (b). The mask has two brown vinyl ears, a green yarn mane, and a neck composed of fabric with a pink, yellow, brown and white floral pattern on a grey background. The rump has a green yarn tail and a skirt of the same fabric as the neck that runs along the sides and back. Both are built out of papier maché with a bamboo frame and are painted green with black and white eyes, red lips with white teeth, and bands of red on the rump.
