Large wooden dish with carved and painted designs. The dish is oval in shape. On the top is a carved figure with a human head and animal body. The front is carved out, creating a concave surface. There is a large white diamond on red-orange ground. On the back are curved geometric patterns in white, outlined in black on red-orange ground.

Dish ?2720/26

Oval board with carved figure standing at the flat end and the other end rounded. Figure with square jaw, thick neck and well-developed muscles in shoulder and chest faces forward, hands to the ground and what may be a bowl ? beside him. The surface of the board below him is carved with decoration that is white and orange in the negative areas and black on the raised outlines; the back of the board is carved out to create a raised rim around it and painted orange.

Wooden dish ? with carved and painted designs. The dish is oval with a large figure topping one end. The figure is sitting with elbows upon knees, holding onto a staff or long beard. One side of the dish ? is carved out, creating a concave surface. The other side has curved tendrils and diamond shapes in red, outlined in black on white ground.

Platter2720/22

Carved wooden board. The rectangular board has a carved indentation in the front and is rounded with carved design on the back. On the top is a carved figure with a protruding head and long beard, sitting with hands on knees. The front and top figure were painted black. The back has a carved 'v' motif with curled ends, repeated twice vertically and three times horizontally. The back was painted in red, black and white.

Large shell neck ornament with reddish woven band. The shell is cresent shaped and covered with red pigment on the front. The band is knotted through holes in each end. The band tapers at the ends and has a single cowrie shell attached.

Wood citak shield, oval-like shaped with a slight taper at both ends but one has a straight edge while the other is pointed. Detailed with a bilaterally symmetrical stylized design carved in relief. The recesses of the curved geometric design are painted orange and white with a black outline. The pointed top is white with an orange trapezoid on either side. The side edges and bottom are painted black. The back has a carved out handle; piece of brown synthetic twine attached.

Wooden coastal shield, rectangular in shape with rounded corners and a slight taper at the bottom. Detailed with a bilaterally symmetrical stylized design carved in relief. The recesses of the geometric design is painted orange and outlined in black all on a white ground framed in black. White stripe on top and bottom. Small carved head sits on the top middle edge. Two sets of four bundles of sennit attached along the side edges, one is missing. The back has black painted, triangular design on either side of a carved out handle; piece of twisted fibre twine attached.

Tapa Cloth2712/1

Large tapa cloth dyed brown in patches with black painted decoration. The numbers 46 through 50 are evenly spaced down each side and two vertical bands of printed letters are in the middle. Bands of elongated diamond shapes filled with a leaf design separate areas of floating triangular and vegetal designs.

The recesses of the triangular geometric design are painted orange and outlined in black. The triangles alternate with white recessed v-shapes and horizontal lines of white rectangles in between. The pointed top is brown with a white triangle near the tip. The sides and bottom are painted black. The back has a carved out handle; piece of brown synthetic twine attached.
