The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Body adornment (karawut) woven of bark and fibre. The object is coloured with ochre, charcoal and lime, and takes a basic human shape with head at top, protruding nose running down the length of the face, large open eyes, and open mouth below nose. At bottom are two thin legs with dangling cowrie shells as feet. The chest is thickly padded. Lines of cowrie shells are sewn onto the torso and upper legs, and boar tusks, two per side, are attached along the midpoint edges. At back, a short loop of fibre is attached at mid-upper shoulder.
Small jade carving of a sleeping goose. Bird sits on feet tucked beneath its body, wings gathered to its sides, neck twisted to allow head to rest on its back. The bird's feathers, facial features and feet are incised and emphasized with some kind of dark brown dye or pigment.
Wood and bamboo spear. A thin, flat head of bamboo comes to a sharp point, and is bound at its other end to a narrow wooden shaft by string and beeswax. This is inserted into the shaved end of a thicker shaft of bamboo and secured with rattan, fibre and beeswax. Four thin lines are carved around the shaft where the shaving and wax begins.
