The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Penis sheath is a crescent-shaped bottle gourd with a 2cm band of woven rattan fibre clasped around the thick end and a thin bast string attached to the band. Remnants of lime remain on the band and string. The small end is sealed.
The main body of the belt is 11 cm high with twelve columns consisting of six horizontal painted stripes alternating between dark brown terracotta ochre and yellow-brown and white pigment(faded). This is surrounded by a border of ruddy-brown plaits with a broad loop on the left end and a tightly wound loop on the right that holds several braided ties, which may have been previously wound together, as one is thicker and made up of several braids and the others are single strands and somewhat frayed. Above the columns, two cords of ruddy-brown grass and two of dark brown and yellow-brown stripes, criss-cross to form five diamond shapes with incomplete ends. On top of these are paired lines of light grey seeds, one section is missing. Three narrow braided tassels with loose ends are attached to the bottom of the belt.
Pig bone nose ornament, slightly curving, noticeably wider at one end. A column of over three centimetres in length has been carved at centre with crescents at its ends on opposite sides. These in turn form ends that appear as crescents from the front or as arrow points from a top view.
Pig bone nose ornament. The bone has been carved to leave a central ring. On both sides two thin arms sprout on opposite sides of the ring for a couple of centimetres, culminating in molar-like shapes with four spikes.
Costume made of thick woven plant fibre. A square skirt is attached to a hood, featuring raised vertical stripes painted with ochre and lime. The hood has a woven and painted swirl on each side above three short horizontal stripes. A nose protrudes from the hood with large, rectangular gaps for the eyes and mouth. Round ears sit on both sides of the hood, and two loops are attached at back. At the base of the head arms are attached that would cover the top or outside of the wearer`s arms, with cuffs that have long strands of sago leaf sprouting from them. Sago strands also hang from below the skirt. At the base of the body is a string appendage representing a phallus.
