Three pieces of brown matting with assorted bits that have broken off (it was all originally one piece). This unnumbered piece of matting was found loose in a box, along with other artifacts from 45KT20. Tag reads "Misc Sample #40," which matches Greengo 4E24 Box 5.0 (label on original matting box read Box 5.1). No description of this specific matting could be found in the Field Catalog Form, Artifact Record Notebooks, or in Swanson 1962, as well as no photos in Swanson 1962 of the distinctive weaving pattern. Knotted reed and smaller piece of plant material were found in the same box as two pieces of wood (45KT20/1966-95/8) with a note indicating it was from block card 3S2-7. Wood and reed are mentioned on an added note on the block card written by Giles: "Wood, stick and reed samples; construced and pierced reed." However, this is not written in the Artifact Record Notebooks. Block 3S2-7 matches with artifact 45KT20/400 in the Field Catalog Form, but the description "Wood, cattail" is too vague to confirm match. No description of this specific wood and knotted reed could be found in Swanson 1962. It has been assigned cat. #45KT20/1966-95/7 by the Burke. K. Kidwell, 03/02/2011
