Cordage fragment; 2 strand s-twist. Original site name was "45KI8 (B)" in Arifact Book No 1. Field Catalog Form cross-references artifact as "AF-163." Artifact Record #163 describes object, "cordage." Artifact was found in pit B, 8" below stratum, 57" from the NE corner and 17" from the NW corner. Excavated by Giesa on 7/20/1953. A. Eight plant fiber cordage fragments. Smaller pieces are bagged inside larger bag. Field Catalog Form describes as: " 6 pieces 2-S cordage".

Cattail matting. According the the Field Catalog List, object number 272 is "Cattail matting" from "4-3, 17"(d), AF-136." AF-136 in Field Notebook #1 describes the same object with the following provenience: "Sq. 4, Depth 17", Loc. 23" from Stk 4; 59" from Stk 5N1, by Harmon on 7/16/1953, In level of straw, reed. Plant fiber knotted cedar. Field Catalog Form indicates Unit 3S3-4, knotted cedar fibre, AF-108. Artifact Record #108 in the Field Notebook #1 reads "Sq. 3S3, surf d. 3rd level ("3rd" written in pen over original pencil)" No depth or provenience given, instead written is "square and depth are a guess, no measurments." In remarks, "Found on path beside pit. This is the probable pit and layer." Excavated by Warren 7/7/1953. 05/17/2011 I. Ostericher
