This is a small flower printed sack tied with the same fabric. Contents unverified as not opened. This was purchased at the same time as the visiting sticks (see 11.694.8994). According to information received at the time such sticks and tobacco were sometimes sent along by messenger when a traveler was within a day's journey of his destination. Although gifts acknowledged the tobacco was rarely smoked. This bag was given to Culin by Charlie Michel when Culin visited him at his home.
This is a kachina dressed with a painted lilt, tall hide boots, yarn armbands and a ruff around his neck of plant material.

Bundled plant fiber found with other artifacts from 45KT20. Artfact is numbered "45KT20 (KI8) 4E16 Box 5.2". Number corresponds with Greengo files but artifact is not described therein. Three pieces of brown matting with assorted bits that have broken off (it was all originally one piece). This unnumbered piece of matting was found loose in a box, along with other artifacts from 45KT20. Tag reads "Misc Sample #40," which matches Greengo 4E24 Box 5.0 (label on original matting box read Box 5.1). No description of this specific matting could be found in the Field Catalog Form, Artifact Record Notebooks, or in Swanson 1962, as well as no photos in Swanson 1962 of the distinctive weaving pattern.
