Puppet of a male. The body is made of wood, with articulations at the neck, elbows, fingers, hips and knees. The mouth and eyes are also moveable. The puppet is dressed in a fabric costume, with a gold sarong, and red and blue tunic embroidered in white flowers on the torso, and coloured sequence sewn onto cuffs and hem. The puppet’s face is finely carved with protruding features, painted wrinkles, brows and lashes. Human hair has been used for his moustache and hair. Puppeteer’s strings are attached to the head, shoulders, hands and legs of the puppet.

His long purple tunic is edged in pink, buttons decorating the front, with a pink sash thrown over his right shoulder and belted at the waist with a rope. Part b is a wooden dagger, decoratively painted, that sits inside a small red and gold sheath attached to the belt. The puppet wears light sandals with gold fringe decoration. Puppet’s hands and face are delicately carved and very detailed. Puppet is moved by a wooden control stick, with marionette strings attached to head, shoulders, hands and knees.
