Handmade rendition of the Korean flag. Square flag of cream coloured silk-like fabric, with two ties in each corner. Designs are formed of coloured fabric inset into cut-out areas of the flag. At the centre is a disc with an S shape division at centre, dividing the disc into two swirls, one red and one dark blue, each tapering to a point at one end (yin-yang symbol). Radiating out from the disk towards the four corners are four sets of three dark blue bars, some broken and some solid. Clockwise from the top, the first is broken-solid-broken, the second is solid-solid-solid, the third is broken-broken-broken, and the fourth is solid-broken-solid.

Dark blue skirt of heavy stiff silk with a smooth sheen on both sides. It is made of two fabric panels joined with a hand-sewn seam and open at the back. The skirt is evenly pleated at the top and inserted into a waistband of white ramie. The waistband is lightly pasted together and ends in long ties. The upper edge of the skirt is pulled up at one end inside the waistband, making that edge slightly shorter.

Under-trousers of very sheer white silk fabric. Pants are angled out from the waistband to the ankles. Body of pants is pleated onto a wide waistband opening at the back. At each side of the waistband opening is attached a narrower long tie. Both ties are very creased. Pleats face towards the centre, front and back. Crotch is low, ending above the knees, and open at the back, ending in a gusset of white ramie with an edge that has come loose from the edge of the leg. The edges of the back opening are folded, but not hemmed. The lower edges of the pants are finished with hems 3.5 cm. deep.

Outer skirt made of seven panels of white ramie. The skirt panels are pleated and inserted into a band of unbleached cotton. The the upper edge of the band is scalloped, with the points of the scallops meeting the ends of two shoulder straps of the same material. The band opens at the front and the front seam is left unstitched near the top. One strap is stitched in place with black thread.

Woman’s white ramie jacket. The jacket is shorter than waist-length. It opens at the front centre, with the left side lapping over the right when closed. Panels are added to the front edge on each side to extend the overlap. The deep V-neckline is edged on the outside and inside with a facing 5.5 cm. wide, with a rounded corner on the bottom left and a square corner on the right. A short, narrow inside tie is attached to this square corner with a corresponding tie on the left underarm seam. A triangular tab is attached to the place where the facing joins the front edge and this aligns with a square tab on the right side. The lower edge of the garment curves downward to the centre front. There is a centre back seam. The sleeves are inset with a straight seam and joined with another seam between elbow and wrist. The lower edges of the sleeves have convex curves, narrowing towards the wrist. All hems are very narrow.

Dark blue summer kimono made of fabric with a resist dyed white checkered pattern. Kimono assembled with hand-stitching throughout. The pattern consists of alternating vertical and horizontal, white-gray lines in small squares. There is a wide patterned band around the neck and partway down the centre opening. The short sleeves have an opening under the arms. The inside is unlined.

Rain cape woven into a semi-circular shape. The corners have been trimmed at the bottom front, and they are blanket stitched along with the edges that extend down from the neck. There is a loop of ramie cord at the back of the neck, and the bottom edges are unfinished with a fringe.

Child’s vest of fine white ramie, closing at the centre front with four shank buttons made of white plastic. There are two pockets applied to the outside of the vest near the lower edge, and a smaller one on the upper left side. The lower edge of the vest curves downwards to the centre front. Vertical seam at the centre back.

Hat with slightly curved brim and cylindrical crown that tapers slightly from its base to a flat crown. The structure of the hat is formed by fine split bamboo. Top of crown made of two layers of fine woven horse hair (?); outer layer of sides of crown and top of brim have one layer of the same material. Sides of crown and underside of brim lined with a layer of diagonal weave horse hair or coarse split bamboo. Four lines of stitching on sides of crown forming a cross at top. Small remnants of ribbon tie at side.
