Moccasins1193/1 a-b

The moccasins are brown with multicoloured beadwork on the tongue insert. The moccasins are made from two pieces of skin. One piece forms the sole and sides with a single seam on each heel. The other piece forms the inset tongue. The tongue piece is decorated with multicoloured beads in a 'V' pattern with a scalloped top edge. There is light brown stitching around the top of the tongue and the opening for the foot.

Cradle BoardA17206

Cradle board with a doll laced-up inside the bundle. The doll is covered in a beige and white striped blanket so that only the head is visible. The beige blanket is partially wrapped by a black cover with red trim and white stitching. There is white fibre lashing the black and red cover together, securing the doll within. The black and red cover is attached to a wooden board, upon which the doll rests. There is a small pillow under the doll's head. Attached to the sides of the board and extending upwards in an arch is a multicoloured bead covered wooden frame with beaded hide fringes.

Silk lined skin pouch with strands of fringe partly bound by purple quills. Floral beading design on both sides but with a pattern different on each side. One side has a design that consists of a swirling flower with multiple green petals outlined by orange with dark red in between and three translucent white stems equally spaced throughout with bunches of blue, green, red, and steel-coloured flowers. The other side has a design that consists of a flower with four green petals outlined by orange with four dark blue stems equally spaced throughout with a flower that has three light pink petals and a dark pink circle at either side of its base for the top and the bottom stems while the side stems have a yellow flower with three dark purple petals and a green leaf at either side with three dark pink circles at their bases. Edged with white and green beads with a green zig zag along the top curves.Has a strap decorated with multi-coloured beads.

Tied at one end, the long skin bag is beaded on both sides. One side has a design that consists of four geometric shapes, one in each quadrant. Each geometric shape has an upper portion that consists of a downward pointing, green triangle with three red-tipped, dark blue protuding lines above and a lower portion that consists of a square, green arch-like shape that has a dark blue cross at each of the two bottom corners. Five red-tipped, dark blue crosses form a vertical line along the middle in between the geometric shapes. The other side has a design that consists of four similar geometric shapes, one in each quadrant, but with the upper two being closer to the middle. Each of these different geometric shapes has an upper portion that consists of dark blue and purple cross with a green base and a red bow-tie-like shape and a lower portion that consists of a square arch-like shape that is red along its inner most half and dark blue along its outer most half with a downward pointing, dark blue prong-like shape at the bottom outer most corner while another red one connects the two geometic shapes side-by-side together. Four vertical, green bands form a vertical line along the middle in between these different geometric shapes. Trim of red, white, and blue quills are wrapped around strips of rawhide and tassels are sewn on the bottom of the above strips. Decorations also of tin bells with red tassels.

Leather pouch sewn on three edges. Beaded on one side with a pair of vertical double-pointed hour-glass-like shapes that are translucent pink along the inner most sides and green along the outer most sides on a white background with gold-coloured beads across the top. Fringe sewn on which is very soft - like suede.

Rectangular bag with thin hide thongs for handles at the top. Front panel of bag is entirely covered with beading; a central yellow, green, red, and orange geometric design on blue ground, with alternating red and black, and red and gold banding around the edges. Back panel is covered with a dark blue, variegated woolen cloth. Front and back sides are bound with a light pink synthetic fabric. Interior of bag is lined with olive green cotton printed with images of cottages, mountains, flowers, and mountain goats.

Composed of two strips of hide as well as one horizontal and one vertical inserted bead work panel of predominantly triangular and diamond-shaped patterns, the horizontal panel has upward pointing black triangles on a white background while the vertical panel has red, green, and yellow diamond shapes outlined by white and black within alternating yellow and green square backgrounds. Two string loops of ostrich egg beads are at either sides and yellow and black and red and green trade beads hang from the back of the piece.

Red, blue and white beaded headband with a circular design on ends and a beaded fringe along one side. The circular design has a red centre with white and blue petals. Along one side of the circular ends is a clear and red beaded fringe. In the centre of the red band are white, green, yellow and blue points. On the back is a yellow and green diamond pattern with red, blue and white centres.
