Dance Leggings3051/3 a-b

Pair of leggings constructed mainly of cotton; dark blue on the outside, with bright cotton and wool fabric decorations cut out and sewed onto the face. Designs are zigzags, colour blocks, rectangles, and ‘s’ shapes in red, yellow, purple, tan and green. A short, thick hide fringe surrounds the decorations and the bottom hem. The interiors are fully lined with tan and brown patterned cotton. Three leather ties are attached to each side of each legging, for attaching to dancer's legs.

Dance Apron3051/1

Dance apron with a deer hoof fringe all along the bottom edge. The garment is made of a rectangle of red wool, with a large dip at the bottom centre hem. The front is decorated with thin horizontal lines of fabric sewn to the wool that follow the dip. The top line is black velvet, followed by lines of purple surrounded by blue triangles as well as lines of tan cotton and blue cotton. The back is lined with cotton in tan and checked tan and red. From the apron’s bottom hem hangs a long rawhide fringe with deer hooves attached to each hide strip by thread, tied through a hole bored in the hoof. Many of the hooves have been modified to have a decorative serrated edge. Two small, conical metal bells hang from a fringe on the left side.

Wrist Band3029/4 a-b

Pair of beaded hide wrist bands. The top of each is completely covered in beads, with a blue ground. Round red flowers on stems with green leaves decorate each end, one with a tassel of red, black and translucent beads hanging from the foliage, the other with leather thongs. Three flags on poles sit at the centre in red, white and blue. The underside of the bands are undecorated, but show the intricate stitching. They tie together with hide thongs.

Beaded Cuffs3029/3 a-b

Pair of large hide gauntlet cuffs, covered on the exterior by glass bead designs: on a blue background is a bouquet of flowers--orange and white in the centre, red and gold to the side, and white, green and orange at bottom; their stems are embedded in colourful foliage in green, gold, pink, yellow and blue. Matching decorative motifs are at the top corners. The cuffs open to one side and tie with a series of thin leather thongs. The interior is lined in red fabric.

Gloves3027/2 a-b

Pair of beaded hide gloves, or gauntlets. A fringe falls from either side of each gauntlet. A large red flower is beaded onto the top of the hand, with green leaves and small round blue flowers to the bottom. All are surrounded by a white bead border. Glove top has matching beaded flowers and foliage in red, shades of blue, yellow and green, also surrounded by a white border. The underside is decorated by stitching in concentric rectangles.

Basket3000/32

Long, oval cedar basket. Walls of basket angle very slightly outward from base to rim, where a row of twisted cedar lines the mouth. Two long flexible handles of wrapped cedar cross the basket and are attached to its long sides with leather thongs. Decoration is a wide encircling stepped line, in imbricated red and black bark.

Basket3000/26

Rectangular woven basket in a tight, square weave. Base is a small rectangle, slightly curved walls flaring out toward the wide mouth. The exterior is two-toned, colours indicating a change in weave, dark brown on the bottom and light brown on top. Decoration is black and red bark imbrication in thin vertical patterns, three to a side. Interior weave is unchanged throughout. A rounded handle spans the interior, connecting to rim with pieces of hide; one side is now detached.

Neck Ornament2960/27

Neck ornament made of 18-19 strings of cylindrical beads creating a wide, circular necklace that fits close to the neck. The beads are threaded on fibre strands, held together by seven strips of hide interspersed at regular intervals, with thin hide ties at the ends. The beads are decorated with incised lines, and lacquered(?).

Around the wrist area and around the upper edge of the gloves are wide strips of fur. There is a long hide fringe along the outer edge of each and the inside of each glove is lined with a green cotton fabric from the opening to the wrist.
