Light tan reindeer fur woman's boots made with moccasin construction and pointed, upturned toes. Trimmed with red and yellow wool felt. Four sets of brass eyelets laced at the ankle with twisted red and yellow fibre cord. Laces trimmed on the ends with red and yellow wool pompoms. Flat soles sewn on. Lined with red wool fabric.

Knife2605/1 a-b

Reindeer herder's knife (part a) and sheath (part b). Elongated 'L' shaped sheath is comprised of two pieces of reindeer antler held together with metal nails, and topped with leather handle and strap. The antler has been elaborately engraved with interlinking circular and triangular shapes, which appear to have been filled in with ink. Knife handle is made of antler and polished wood, with similar etchings as sheath. There is a small inscription on the back of the sheath.

Four Winds Hat853/3

A man’s very large elaborately decorated hat constructed in three tiers: 1) a 13 cm wide band of brown reindeer fur fits around the head lined with printed cotton broadcloth. This band is loosely covered by a band of red wool fabric appliqued with multi-coloured embroidered ribbon, braid, and rickrack. There is a narrow band of off-white fur at the bottom edge and twelve red, green, and yellow streamers (58 cm long) attached at the centre back; 2) above the fur, there is another band of multi-coloured ribbons, rickrack, and braid, 11 cm. wide; 3) this is surmounted by a 33 cm. band of dark blue wool fabric trimmed with multi-coloured ribbons and braid. The top is shaped into four points, (the "four-winds" hat).

Light, ecru-coloured fur boots with pointed, upturned toes. Cotton drawstring rim with red and green felt trim with a zigzagging design sewn beneath it. Drawstring is a multicoloured braided cord with red and green felt tassels at the ends.

Pair of women's fur boots. Band of ecru-coloured material trimmed with red cloth and covered with multicoloured floral embroidery around top of boot. Soles and area around the bottom of the boots not covered with fur. Cord and skin ties attached at either side of the heel run across the front of the ankle.

Ankle-high shoes with moccasin style soles and turned-up, pointed toes. Loose tops are held close to the ankle by multi-coloured woven straps ending in narrow braided red and tan cords. Unlined, machine stitching.

Mittens1128/9 a-b

Reindeer fur mittens (part a-b) are lined with wool and edged with leather. The fur is a mixture of light brown, dark brown and white. The mittens are lined with brown wool (knit in k2p2 ribbing). There is brown leather sewn around the edge of the wrist opening. There is a small leather tie attached to one side of each mitten.

Doll3584/2

Doll, in standing position, with a walrus tusk head. Eyes, eyebrows, and frowning mouth are incised; nose carved in relief. Incised elements coloured with black and red pigment(?). Figure is wearing reindeer fur clothing, consisting of long hooded parka and tall boots. Parka has grey-white bands running down chest, and along bottom edge. White fur belt wrapped around waist with brown trim along bottom edge; brown fur and red fibre fringe hanging along bottom edge of belt. Bands identical to belt wrapped around upper arms; green stripe decoration through centre. Fur and red fibre fringe also hanging from back of hood. Boots are white with red stitches along soles; beaded fur pompoms attached to knee of right boot. Doll has no hands.
