Smooth stone, wedge-shaped blade inserted into notch at end of haft; secured in notch with three bands of braided rattan and resin(?). Adze is undecorated. Bow with three arrows sealed inside a plastic bag; bag is secured shut with a paper manufacturer's label stapled over the opening. Bow is wrapped with plant fibre and its string is made of the same material; arrows are attached to string and side of bow with plant fibre ties. Bowl is oval-shaped with tapering ends; assortment of dot, linear, and circular motifs incised around sides of bowl. Motifs are filled with dark pigment; dried sap molded to pointed edges of bowl, along interior. Stick has a flattened top and cylindrical shaft; bottom edge of top portion has rows of horizontal lines and dots, also filled in with dark pigment. Ceremonial parang (part a) with scabbard (part b). Long knife has a cylindrical horn hilt that tapers towards top; rectangular protrusion extends from left side. Both top half of hilt and protrusion are hollowed out. Circular, curvilinear, linear, and fang-like motifs carved in relief along upper half of hilt; hilt grip covered with woven band of rattan. Holes are drilled into the tapered section of the hilt, for hanging purposes; hilt attached to blade with resin. Knife blade is convex on one side, slightly concave on the other, and widens from the hilt; back edge of point is tiered. Linear, "X" designs, geometric, and curvilinear motifs incised along front of blade. Scabbard is composed of wood sheath for the long knife, and has a smaller plant fibre and fabric sheath tied to back with rattan. Wood sheath is made of two pieces of wood bound together with rattan; upper two bands of rattan are plain, bottom four are tied decoratively. Panels decorated with floral and curvilinear motifs carved along front of wood sheath. Smaller sheath is undecorated and has two pieces of bamboo along the interior edges, providing shape. Long braided rattan cord, with looped ends, threaded through small sheath, for carrying purposes.
Seven-stringed harp-like instrument with a gourd resonator. Triangular wood frame extends from top of gourd; attached to gourd with grass ties and resin(?). One rod is vertical and the other horizontal; connected at their ends with a third diagonal rod. End of horizontal rod has a moulded channel and incised decoration across the front; designs include "X" shapes and linear motifs. Tip of vertical rod is pointed and is circled with a raised band; diagonal lines carved along length. Seven strings, made of grass, are tied around the vertical rod and strung through holes in the horizontal rod. Diagonal rod is undecorated. Coils of grass inside of gourd.
Long knife (part a), whittling knife (part b) and scabbard (part c). Long knife has a deer horn hilt carved into the profile of a bird’s head. Hourglass-like designs and curvilinear motifs incised throughout. Protruding from the top of the bird’s head and the beak are sections of short black and red hair. Hole drilled through pronounced nostrils, for hanging or attachment purposes. Hilt grip covered with woven band of rattan. The blade is convex on one side, slightly concave on the other, and widens from the hilt. Tip is angled. The whittling knife has a small curved blade attached to a long, slightly curved handle. Blade end of hilt decorated with a wide band of braided metal. Blades of both knifes are secured to hilts with resin. The scabbard is composed of a wood sheath for the long knife and a bark sheath for the whittling knife. Wood sheath made of two pieces of wood bound together with rattan. Ties alternate between single dyed strands and thick decorative bands. Bands, woven with naturally coloured and dyed strands, consist of “X”-shaped designs, concentric circles and knots. Wood is painted dark red and has incised motifs, matching designs on long knife hilt, throughout. Bark sheath is undecorated and secured to wood sheath with plain rattan ties. Braided rattan carrying cord, with looped end, threaded through bark sheath.
Thumb piano consisting of eleven metal prongs attached to a wooden base with a metal bar, secured with four hooks, and supported by a strip of metal sheeting. The prongs are flat at the tip and then curve upward at their ends, with balls of resin(?) attached underneath. The top and sides of the base have raised walls; the top wall is straight, sides curve inwards. The bottom flares outward and has a rounded edge. There are incised and burnt triangle designs on the sides and bottom of the base.
