Hat331/2

Circular-shaped woven hat with bone and feathers attached on either side. Starting in the centre, the woven pattern has a dark-brown band, a light-brown band, and a striped band of alternating dark and light brown. Edge of piece is bound with three stacked bands of red painted grass(?) and fastened with three vertical stitches at evenly-spaced intervals. Long strand of root(?) is attached to both sides.

Light brown birch bark basket with an oval-shaped top and a square-shaped bottom--bark is bent and laced together with root (?). Upper rim of the basket is lined with a splint bound with thin strips of root (?). A floral design has been scratched onto the sides, revealing a lighter shade of bark.

Rectangular coiled basket with popen work triangles at top of long sides and scalloped edge on top of short sides. Two handles go across shorter dimension near centre. Basketry HatNbz903

Twined cedar bark basketry hat with plaited accents in greenish-black dyed bark. The hat is dome-shaped with a flat top. Decorated with five bands of dyed wefts, two rows per band. Dyed bark is also used around two rows near the bottom rim. The inside of the hat has a diagonally plaited hat band. It is sewn to the hat with spruce root, which is visible on the exterior of the hat.
