Light yellow brown mottled ostrich egg (part a) with one cm. hole drilled at one end. Incised lines in three places around the hole form three ladder-like designs. The stopper (part b) is a bundle of grass roots wrapped at one end with fibre.

Rectangular-shaped basket (part a) with a lid (part b) (bifurcated stitches). Coiled, slat construction, and completely imbricated. Design (part a) is a zigzag pattern covering the whole design field with red and black cherry bark on a white reed background. Lid (part b) has a radiating red and black 'x' design. It has a large coil stand.

Part (a) Small urn shaped coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) with loop work foot, coiled handle and lid part (b). Imbricated design of three staggered rows of diagonal bands in red and dark cherry bark. On shoulder near rim are four staggered short tricolour bands in red cherry bark, tule grass and dark cherry bark. Same configuration on lid with double stitches in black cherry bark imbrication near center.

Upward flaring, rectangular basket with coiled on slat construction (bifurcated stitches). Partical imbrication in band vertical column arrangement. Yellow, blue, green, faded dyes. Each long side has two vertical columns of yellow-orange outlined by green. Each short end has a similar band but with green v's within.

Shell BasketryNb11.243

Abalone shell covered on the exterior with wrap-twine basketry, conforming closely to its contours and brought over shell edges to secure. Pattern: dark blue rectangular ovoid at centre, with concentric bordering stripes of yellow/red, red, yellow/red and dark blue. Rest of field natural light brown, upon which five dark green flying bird shapes are arranged around centre area. Where basketry turns over shell edge, there are concentric stripes of red, dark green, yellow/red and light green. Colours fade on thick side of shell. Basketry slightly damaged in several small areas. Shell interior has four natural perforations.

Rectangular cedar basket, flared, decreasing in size to the bottom. Tightly coiled with a slat bottom and a rim of narrow width bundles around which cedar is not coiled. Coiled cherry bark with row of beaded grass finishes top edge. Imbricated design of three horizontal zig zag rows of red and black cherry bark and yellow grass are along the sides.
