Brown wood helmet mask of an animal with bulbous eyes, ears, and horns. Large open mouth with jaws and very large teeth, five and six pairs deep. Upper teeth have incised diagonal lines. Fabric band across the forehead decorated with cowrie shells and extends back around the top of the head where a horn is attached at either side. Inside and back are filled with a light brown raffia-like material.

Strength in the Darkness3665/1

Full-sized paddle, painted black with designs across front; back of blade is undecorated. Paddle has a flattened ovular blade, thick cylindrical shaft, with a grip that flares at the top. Central line of white dots extends from grip to throat of paddle; mirrored on either side by lines of dark blue, green, yellow, and red dots. Dot lines end at dark blue infinity symbol, which covers front of blade. Sides of infinity symbol have prairie roses and trilliums. Behind the infinity symbol is a scene of three buffalo, done in black. Buffalos are painted on a ground of blue, white, and brown; ground colours fade into one another. Artist inscription written on back, bottom edge of blade: STRENGTH IN THE DARKNESS- AA 2021. COLLABORATION: PAT CALIHOU, CARVER; Adele Arseneau, PAINTER.

Painting of the coronation of the virgin Mary. The painting depicts a woman kneeling before three identical standing male figures who are all placing a crown on her head. The man on the left holds a sceptre and the man on the right holds a cross-bearing orb. Mary holds her hands together in front of her, above a red Ankh. All four figures have halos. Painted on canvas, in a carved wooden frame with a metal hook at the top back.

The Child Mary Spinning3678/1

Painting of the virgin child Mary spinning. She is seated in a friar's armchair holding a spindle and distaff. She wears layered garments including a white blouse with decorative edging around the sleeves, a red bodice and a dark floral skirt. She wears a cape, which is held in place by a broach with an anagram of her name. Her face is very pale with red cheeks. Her hair is held back by a gold headband with a red bow, and her head has an emanating halo. Bordered by flowers (tulips, carnations). Canvas on wood frame with paper around edges.

Heavy, tall wooden drum. Somewhat hourglass-shaped, with a smaller lower section. Skin stretched over the wider end, held by leather strip nailed around edge. The side has vertical lines of twisted animal skin with cowrie shells attached uniformly, which attaches to a metal ring. Hollow wooden base, which has lightly marked lines around the sides and circular marks with holes in the centre that follow the lines. Twisted fibre loop sits loose around the foot. Twisted fibre handle attached to one side.

Funerary Mask3677/2

Oval-shaped face mask with protruding forehead. The the ridge of the forehead extends into a long, triangular nose. The eyes extend out and have horizontal openings, and there is a protruding downward peg for the mouth. Painted red on forehead and eyelids, and white from under eyes to chin, with some light blue spots showing in both areas. Small holes line the forehead. Three slanted lines carved on both cheeks.

Brightly painted portable retablo box altar with two doors that open to reveal a two-level religious scene. The doors have leather hinges, and are painted on both sides with blue, green and yellow floral designs on white backgrounds. The two levels have small painted plaster figures and animals arranged into two scenes. The top of the box is triangular, with a painted blue cross. The exterior of the box is painted yellow.

Painting of the virgin Mary holding a child and a sceptre. Mary is depicted wearing a red gown with gold brocading, and lace-trimmed sleeves. On her chest she wears a red and gold emblem of the Mercedarian order. Both Mary and child wear broad-brimmed black pilgrim hats with white feathers. Mary holds a gold sceptre in her left hand, and child in her right. They appear to be on a red and gold seat. Painted on a board, in a carved wooden frame.
