Devil Mask2946/18

Blue, red and gold devil mask with curved horns. There are two large blue eyes, rimmed with gold chain-line-trim and, on the outside, a thick blue fringe. The eyebrows are large, rust coloured, and decorated across the middle with a line of glitter and red beads. The horns are blue at the base, gold in the middle and red-orange at the tips. The sequins have been painted to match their sections on the horns. Six blue, mirrored teeth hang from the bottom of the protruding upper lip. There is an orange circle over the chin. The back edges of the mask have been lined with foam and elastic has been looped through small holes on the top and both sides of the mask on the back.

Devil King Mask2946/12

Devil king mask with a red face, golden crown, short twisting horns and a dragon at the top. The eyes bulge out on either side of the face and are decorated with large black pupils and pink and green striped lashes. The red bridge of the nose is decorated with silver chevrons. The mouth forms a snarl with its three silver teeth framed on either side by large golden fangs. There are three blue-trimmed golden horns on the forehead. The rubbery ears are shaped like flames and fade from dark blue near the centre to yellow at the edges. The horns have short, multi-coloured stripes decorated with silver and gold dots. The small green, dragon-like creature has golden teeth and fangs, pink ears, and geometric silver designs across the forehead and nose. The crown has green, half-sphere shaped projections on both sides. The inside of the crown is light blue and light pink.

Devil Mask2946/10

Devil mask with three foam horns on the forehead and long yellow hair at the back. The mouth is open, with rows of white teeth on the upper and bottom lip. Sets of overlapping fangs on both sides of the mouth are decorated with black lines. The eyes are almond shaped with black pupils and no irises. There are red and orange flame-like ears on either side of the mask. The bulbous chin, pointed nose, thick brows, and cheeks are made of foam and have decorative gashes. The horns have tin bases and foam uppers. The black tipped horns are decorated with repeating geometric designs in black and white. There are thin pieces of gold ribbon through the coarse hair. A piece of white elastic fabric has been strung across the back, through holes at the top and sides of the mask.

Devil King Mask2946/17

Devil king mask with a black face, silver crown and two large, twisting, multi-coloured horns. The mouth has large, spiked, white teeth. Two fangs project upwards from the corners of the mouth. The curling nostrils fade from yellow to orange. The four ridges on top of the nose are decorated with a studded golden trim. The cheeks have high, curved ridges. There are two large, protruding eyes with irises that fade from dark blue to white. Above the eyes there are large, bulbous eyebrows which extend to the sides of the mask. At the top of the face are four large, wavy, green and yellow triangles with studded golden trim. The flame-shaped ears are multicoloured. The five-point crown is silver on the outside and a light blue on the inside. Silver glitter is attached throughout, but particularly on the forehead, eyebrows and nose, with golden glitter on the cheeks. There are triangular rubber tips affixed to the end of each horn.

Nokoro Spirit Mask2814/5

Long, rectangular, brown mask. The sack-like mask is made of tree bark stitched along either side. The top of the mask folds over behind the head and has a dark brown fringe made of bark strips which cascades down the back like hair. Two eyeholes are made at the bottom of the mask, below the face. The face of the mask is a large oval made of dried black resin, painted with white and yellow features and geometric patterns. There are two large semi-circles on the forehead, four concentric circles for the eyes and cheeks, vertical lines decorating the eyebrows and a small semi-circle mouth forming a smile. The face has protruding triangular nose and eyebrows made of balsa wood.

Tori Spirit Mask2814/11

Long, rectangular, brown mask. The sack-like mask is made of tree bark stitched along either side. The top of the mask folds over behind the head. Two eyeholes are made at the bottom of the mask, below the face. The face of the mask is a long oval made of black resin painted with yellow and white circles and lines. The mouth and area around the eyes are made of balsa wood that juts out. The left eye is missing; the other is a square piece of metallic material. The mouth is a large circle with bug casings(?) lining the circle. There are tufts of grass around the bottom of the mouth area.

Dart Quiver2814/47 a-qq

Dark brown wooden dart holder (part a), with a comb? (b) and 43 darts (parts c-qq). Quiver (a) is long and cylindrical, made of palm wood, with resin around the base. String is tied around the rim and attaches to a woven lid. The lid is woven in a zig zag pattern and there is resin on the top and around the lid. Inside the quiver there is a bundle of sticks wrapped in twine to hold the darts in place. Part b is a wooden rectangle with six triangular points on the top, and a resin coating along the bottom. (c-qq) Each dart is composed of a thin wooden stick with cotton tied to the tips with a thin piece of string.

Bureru Spirit Mask2814/16 a-c

Long tubular mask made of balsa wood. Mask is a long hollow cylinder with ears or wings (parts b & c) protruding from holes at its sides. It is decorated with black and brown geometric patterns composed of triangles, squares, circles and Xs. The face is a yellow circle with protruding eyebrows and nose, a painted lined moustache, oval eyes with eyelashes, a triangle mouth, and semi-circles on the cheeks and forehead. Long wooden L-shaped ears or wings which fit into the holes of the mask have one side decorated with painted circles, the other with painted triangles.
