Rectangular badge in two equal pieces (part a-b) with an embroidered bird, symbols and surrounding border. The bird is a mandarin duck, denoting a civil seventh rank official. The bird is multicoloured with a blue and white crest, tail and wings, green and yellow scale-like back and throat and red beak. It is in the centre, standing on one leg and facing left with head raised towards the red sun. Amidst a wave and cloud motif background there are symbols around the bird, including an endless knot, a narcissus and several bats. Around the edges of the badge is a gold meander border.

Bag916/2

Flat, rectangular, decorative bag, made from two different types of textile. The front of the bag is made from very finely embroidered, multi-coloured textile with patterns that resemble an ikat weaving. The back of the bag is made from a cotton warp face ikat textile with large red and yellow patterning on an off-white background. All four edges of the front of the bag are finished with narrow multi-coloured tablet-woven braids. The sides and bottom edge of the bag are trimmed with dense, long (11 cm), multi-coloured, twisted fringe (red, dark yellow, purple, off-white, brown, green and blue). The opening of the bag is trimmed with four multi-coloured tassels. The front of the bag is lined with a loosely woven, printed, tan cotton textile.

Small, embroidered, red envelope style bag, made by folding and stitching three corners of a multi-coloured embroidered square together, leaving the fourth corner open as a flap. The central design motif is a hooked sun disc (circular medallion surrounded by numerous spiral ‘arms’) set within a square, which is surrounded by a row of mirrors and geometric border designs. The majority of the embroidered motifs are worked in fine chain stitch. All edges are finished with a heavy black cord that is couched in place with gold metallic thread. A narrow black cord is attached at the point of the flap. The bag is lined with tan and green machine printed cotton textile with a small floral pattern.

Bag, made by bringing three corners of a square piece together, leaving the fourth corner open as a flap. The front of the bag is embroidered with a large multi-coloured sun symbol in the centre surrounded by several decorative borders. There is an orange pompom and a length of green twisted cord attached at the point of the flap. The back of the bag is decorated with three red pompoms.
