Man’s full-length, A-line, colourful, red, yellow and off-white ikat tunic or gown, with wide, straight sleeves and straight 36 cm slit at the centre front neck opening. A small stand-up collar has been roughly attached at the centre back. Warp ikat textile, with silk warp, cotton weft. Roughly made and irregularly patched together. Left underarm has been patched with a piece of dark purple cotton textile. Unlined. Hem is faced with strips of green and white plaid cotton textile. A blue stripe on the selvage shows through on some seams.

Woman’s full-length, A-line, colourful robe or coat with long, tapered sleeves; open at centre front from neck to hem with no closures; front right and left sides do not overlap; made of red, yellow and white warp-ikat textile (silk warp, cotton weft) with a glazed surface; sun disc, ram’s horn and tambourine motifs predominate. There is a vertical opening for a pocket in the right front seam, below the waist; it is bound with 4 cm fringed black and purple braid with yellow and green zigzag trim; the pocket pouch, which is made with red, blue, yellow and white printed cotton textile, is attached to the inside of the robe. A band of wide (3.5 cm) black and purple braid extends from the top of the pocket horizontally under the sleeve to the back of the robe. There is a similar horizontal strip of black and purple braid trim at the same position on the left side, but there is no pocket on the left side. All edges are trimmed on the outside with narrow (5 mm) purple braid make by loop manipulation technique. The edges are faced on the inside with bias strips of machine-printed green, pink and white cotton textile with a floral motif. Vertical slits (12 cm) at the bottom hem on each side. Unlined.

Woman’s full-length, A-line, quilted, colourful robe with long tapered sleeves; open at centre front from neck to hem with no closures; right and left centre fronts slightly overlap at hem; made of red, yellow, green and purple warp-ikat textile, silk warp, cotton weft. Gathers at the underarm are embellished with decorative stitches worked with orange thread. All edges are faced on the inside with bias strips of multi-coloured cotton textile. Lined with machine printed cotton textile with red, green and brown floral motifs on an off-white background. Back neck edge bound with dark red twill tape. Light layer of cotton batting between the outer textile and the lining.

Man's full-length, quilted, A-line, silk robe or coat, open at the front with no closures, has long tapered sleeves. Warp ikat textile, with red, yellow and purple predominating, on a pinkish background; silk warp and red silk weft, giving the textile a pale pinkish colour; large circular sun motifs, curved motifs called ‘bodom’ and ram’s horns motifs. Trimmed on all edges with dark green, yellow, off-white and orange tablet-woven braid; 16 cm vertical vents at the hemline on each side. The body of the robe is lined with dark red and off-white checked cotton textile; sleeves are lined with printed cotton textile, with red and brown floral designs on an off-white background. The front edges are faced with bias-cut strips of dark red cotton textile; the back edges are faced with bias strips of pastel multicoloured cotton textile. Light weight cotton batting between the outer textile and the lining.

Man’s full length, multi-coloured robe or coat with long tapered sleeves, open in front from neck to the hem, with no fasteners; front right and left edges form a V and do not overlap except at the hemline. Four-colour warp ikat textile, with silk warp and cotton weft; ram’s horn, tambourine and sun disc motifs predominate. All outer edges are trimmed with narrow black, white and yellow braid, applied using loop manipulation method. Lined with machine printed cotton broadcloth, with small off-white circular motifs on a light red-orange background; all edges are faced on the inside with multi-coloured striped cotton strips, cut on the bias.

Dog Blanket3203/1

Dog blanket made of black velvet on two joined panels, embroidered with glass beads creating colourful flowers in pink, green, and blue with white and yellow foliage. Flower paste pattern lines can be seen around some of the beading. These panels would hang down the sides of the dog. At centre is an oblong insert of blue felt surrounded by short grey and red wool fringe. At edges of blanket sit longer black and red fringe. Backing is of thick wool fabric, striped, with five panels of leather holding thongs to attach blanket to the wearer.

Wedding Dress3241/1

Wedding dress. Silk garment is long, with a flaring skirt, V neck, and long bell shaped sleeves that flare widely toward the wrists and come to a hanging point at bottom. Dress is heavily embroidered in repeating small gold circular motifs lying in diagonal stripes across the dress, on a light tan ground. Panels of heavy embroidery are sewn into the shoulders and sleeves of the dress, the torso, along the sides of the skirt, and bottom back hem, showing chevrons, flowers, birds and other motifs in orange, red, green and purple on a red and orange ground. The interior is unlined.

Lightly quilted with a light layer of cotton batting. Gathering at the sides just under the sleeves. 12 cm slits at each side at the hem. All edges trimmed with narrow black, blue and white braid made with loop manipulation technique. Lined with red and off-white machine printed cotton textile, representing bunches of flowers; sleeve fronts lined with green, red and off-white machine printed cotton textile, representing leaves and paisleys; all edges are faced on the inside with bias strips of multi-coloured woven striped cotton textile.

Umbrella3188/8

Umbrella made of dark purple velvet. The velvet is the over-layer of the umbrella, hand-embroidered heavily in gold thread floral patterns. A yellow fringe hangs from base and top. The under-layer is unbleached and undyed cotton. When the umbrella is open the metal spine structure creates a flower pattern. The handle is a heavily lacquered wood.
