Rectangular brocade bag. The brocade has a beige floral motif on brown ground, overlayed with gold circlar stitching. There are black cord loops along the top edge. The inside lining is beige fabric with a purple striped pattern, covering a wooden bottom.

Phoenix and lion pattern in red, green, gold and very muted tones. Part (a) has three sides folded under and selvedge left unfolded. Part (b) has three sides folded under and one end left unfolded.

Blue robe with rounded neck, slender sleeves, hoofed cuffs and side opening with frog closures. There are side slits in the sides, back and front. On the front and back are five-toed dragons and bat motifs and various Buddhist and Taoist symbols in white, red, yellow and green on blue ground. There is also a ‘walking dragon’ on the inside flap. The collar band has dragon, bat and cloud motifs in gold, red and blue on a black ground. The sleeves are gold and brown striped with dragon, bat, wave and cloud motifs on the cuffs. Some details are woven in ‘vicious violet’ Ko-ssu throughout the garment. The inside lining is light blue silk.

Pale peach handkerchief with white lace around the edges. The peach centre is silk georgette. The net lace is cotton and machine made.

Single multicoloured shoe. Sole: straw covered with cotton. Square wooden heel. Uppers: purple damask and orange damask, with a butterfly embroidered on the toe. Ribbon border sewn around toe; ribbon is white with green and red floral embroidery. Red binding. At heel, a black cotton cuff extends up the back of the ankle with a red ribbon on either side securing it to the uppers. White cotton lining with a printed red cherry pattern.

Black cloth. Both ends cut with pinking shears.

Red and green stripes on beige-grey ground. Brown on reverse side. Ends have been cut with pinking shears. Stamped with Japanese characters on un-numbered end.

Bands of red with white design, alternating with bands of red, blue, green, orange flowers and leaves on beige ground. Fabric is folded and stitched to cardboard at one end. Japanese characters on same side, at each end.

Blue, silk, square brocade cover with blue and green twisted rope around the edges. The centre of the cover depicts two hexagonal boxes with four brown and gold tassel-like structures around them, on a light blue background. The boxes are brown, pink, green, orange, blue and gold.

Six squares of colour with interior design connected by tree motifs of pine and plum. Cord piping, and for knot-work at each corner.
