Carved wooden Noh mask of “Waka-onna”. Painted with black hair and faint eyebrows. The skin is painted white and grey, the teeth are dark grey, the chin is dimpled, lips are red. There is a dark purple cord on the back of the mask attached through small holes through the sides. There are holes carved in the eyes, mouth, and nostrils. The backside of the mask is dark brown wood stamped with the maker’s mark. Part b is a fabric bag for the mask, decorated with a floral pattern and made with silk thread in various shades of green, brown, and blue. The inside of the bag is white fabric, written on with black ink in Japanese characters. The bag closes with white cloth ties.

There is a dark purple cord on the back of the mask attached through small holes at the temples. There are holes carved in the eyes, and nostrils. The back of the mask is dark brown wood stamped with the maker’s mark. Part b is a taupe fabric bag for part a, decorated with a floral pattern in orange, yellow, green, pink and white. The inside of the bag is white fabric, written on with black ink Japanese characters. The white ties on the bag also have black Japanese characters written on them and a small red maker’s mark. The bag has white ties, with a strip of flexible paper tied to one which is also inscribed with Japanese characters.

The backside of the mask is dark brown wood stamped with the maker’s mark. Part b is a fabric bag for part a, decorated with a pattern of flowers and birds in various shades of green, brown, and gold. The inside of the bag is white fabric written on with black ink, in Japanese characters. The bag closes with white cloth ties.

The face is smiling There is a dark purple cord on the back of the mask attached through small holes at the temples. There are holes carved in the eyes, mouth, and nostrils. The back of the mask is dark brown wood, stamped with the maker’s mark. Part b is a fabric bag for part a, decorated with a pattern of flowers, waves, and a crane, in various shades of green, orange, pink and black. There is a crane on the back of the bag as well. The inside of the bag is white fabric written on with black ink in Japanese characters. The bag has white ties.

Carved wooden Noh mask of “Ko-omote”. Painted with black hair and very faint eyebrows. The skin is painted in white and grey, the teeth are dark grey, and its lips are red. There is a dark purple cord on the back of the mask attached through small holes at the temples. There are holes carved in the eyes, mouth, and nostrils. The backside of the mask is dark brown wood stamped with the maker’s mark. Part b is a fabric bag for part a, decorated with a floral pattern in various shades of green, orange, pink and gold. The inside of the bag is white fabric which has been written on with black ink in Japanese characters. The bag closes with white cloth ties.

Long shawl or scarf. Textile made of thin cotton, coloured in horizontal stripes of red, yellow, green, blue and tan. Tan leaf shapes are embroidered across the surface. Each end has heavy embroidery in similar colours, showing a pattern of diamond shapes. Long multicoloured fringe emerges from both ends.

The silk is blue, brown, red, white, and black.

The silk is black, maroon, blue, gray, white, and yellow.

Toy parrot. Bird stands balanced on both legs and a long thick tail, with a thick torso and no discernible wings. It is completely covered with glass seed beads sewn to an under-layer of fabric in zigzag patterning on torso and diagonal lines on tail, in colours of white, blue, red, green and orange. Face is white with red beak and eyes. Around neck and along top of tail are small tassels in a multitude of colours.

Toy horse. Animal has a long neck, thin legs, and a long body. It is completely covered with glass seed beads sewn to a layer of yellow silk in criss-cross patterns on the neck, and diagonal lines on legs and body, in colours of white, blue, red, yellow, green and orange. Face is white with red halter and tail is multicoloured with a tuft of purple wool at tip. Mane and reins are constructed of a line of beading with small tassels in blue, pink, yellow, grey and purple.
