Animal faces outwards, large eyes to either side, rounded nose with curled nostrils over a wide mouth showing top and bottom teeth with large incisors at centre. Pair of silver and argillite earrings. Black squares of argillite are carved to show the side view of a grizzly bear’s face, squared ears at top, a prominent nose with curled nostril, and an open mouth. A silver border surrounds the argillite and attaches to the screw backs.

Rectangular dark background; an animal sits with a long straight back, a large head with sharp pointed teeth, knees bent, tail curled, holding in its clawed hands the mouth of a halibut attached to a fishing line. Silver box with lid. Top of lid (part b) is densely carved in a killer whale design in silver on an oxidized black background. Large head is placed at bottom left corner, mouth open, tongue emerging. Body runs along top edge, where a human figure clings, its head at top left, hand on whale’s back in front of dorsal fin, legs stretched along whale’s body with foot resting on top right side of lid. Whale’s tail curves down to the lower right corner, where decorated flukes point toward centre. Whale flipper sits at bottom centre. Box (part a) is undecorated.
