Pendant3395/7

Tuareg cross pendant. Top piece, four arms extended like a cross with the upper arm ending in a ring, and lower arm is cutoff ending in another ring. A short chain, with three beads: dark blue, light blue with dark blue swirls and dark blue "evil eye" beads; separate the top talisman with the next. There are also two 1 Kurus - Mehmed V coins attached, one on either side of the ring. Below, a large triangle with the top cutoff, outlined with thin chains, with a raised dot in each corner. A dark blue bead is inset at centre. Extending from the bottom edge are seven chains with two beads: dark bead, and then a light blue with dark blue swirl; each with a 1 Kurus - Mehmed V coin beneath. The central pendant has an extra tear-drop light blue and dark blue bead at the bottom.

Pendant3395/3

Pendant composed of a square metal plate with three attached ornaments beneath, and a loop at both top corners. Plate has a band of filigree around the edge. Within the inner square, is an X-design with circular brown-red jewel inset at centre, and small flowers at the end of each arm. Three charms are attached to the bottom edge. At centre, a large oval brown-red jewel with a circular stained glass floral piece beneath. On either side, attached at each corner, is a smaller circular stained glass floral piece, with a coin attached beneath. One appears to be a 5 Para - Mehmed V coin and the other a 1 Kurus - Mehmed V coin both struck in 1327.

Kohl Container3357/6

Small kohl container composed of two round containers with pointed ends, attached at their long edge. Each container has a flat flower-shaped stopper with a small hole at centre. The opposite end tapers to a capped point. Between the two tubes is a small flattened loop with a chain attached; on the other end of the chain is a dabber, capped similarily to the containers, with a square shaft etched with zigzags that transition to a smooth cylindrical end. The container is decorated with dots and thin strips of twisted metal.

Breastplate3357/4

Diamond-shaped breastplate painted with gold. Cross-shaped metalwork at centre, with five inset polished oval reddish-brown carnelian(?) stones, one at each end of the cross and one at the centre. Around the cross is a diamond-shaped band composed of small plaited chains of metal, then a row of small inset polished circular reddish-brown stones, and then a band around the outer edge of two plaited chains with a snaking line between. At the top is a small hooked attachment. Top edges decorated with attached triangular clover-shaped metal pieces. Bottom edge has a fringe of chains with diamond-shaped ornaments at the end. There are eight tassels, one on each side with two more hanging from long plaited fibres, and two more near the bottom edge. Each tassel composed of a metal cap, from which diamond ornaments hang from S-hooks around the edge, and dark green, dark pink, or dark eggplant purple fibre hangs from underneath with small white beads at the end.

Choker-style necklace composed of a band of chain mail with pentagonal metal ends, each with a small attached loop and a small looped wire through it. The chain mail is covered by small strips of metal wrapped around the chain mail. Attached to the lower edge is a string of small bells, with one larger chain and bell at one end and a small hide tie at the other end.

Square bronze mirror that appears to have been dipped in silver? Face is shiny, partly silver coloured. Decorated back has a small central knob in the form of a crouching mythical beast with a hole through its body. Four lions sit in each corner, two facing in, two facing out. Brocade sari. Long rectangular fabric embroidered with brown thread and silver metallic thread. On one end, there is a section (77 cm long) of plain fabric with brown thread embroidered. The main panel down the length, slightly offset from centre, starts with two rows of large paisley separated by small rows of repeating patterns, then changes to a repeating floral pattern, bordered by repeating diamonds. The second largest panel has a smaller pattern of repeating flowers.
