A light beige mask with a high protruding brow and double chin. There is light brown and white hair on top of the head of the mask and on the eyebrows which are accentuated with gold, red, and black curved lines in between. The oval eyes are cut out with curvy red, gold, and black lines. The pink nostrils outlined with gold are cut out. The red lips outlined with brown and gold are upturned with fangs and there is a lower jaw tightly attached. Long dark brown hair on strings flow down the sides.
Eight metal bells are attached to leather backing by red cord and red fabric. Metal bells each have rings on top, a raised band around their centres, and incised cross-shaped design at the bottom. Small round metal balls are inside the bells and create the ringing sound. The underside of the object has brown-orange animal skin with hair.
Three bells attached to leather piece (part a). There are sixteen holes in the leather. Bells are round, have a small metal ring on the top, an X-shaped incision on the bottom, and a raised mid-section decorated with diagonal slashes. Strip of red cotton is tied through two of the holes near the edge of the leather piece. Part b is a detached bell from part a.
A large wood mask with a flat base carved with a relatively flat circular face at the centre. The base is painted blue and has three cylindrical wood pegs pointing outward and equally spaced from each other along the top. Three surrounding curved wood sticks are attached to the mask along the sides. Nine white feathers are attached all around the mask through the three surrounding curved wood sticks. The face is painted white with two black semi-ovals for the hair line. Downward curving slits indicate the eyes, around which are painted black glasses. The nose is long and flat with one large hole for the nostrils and two black spots below. There is a upward curving slit for the open mouth. Black paint is used to outline the goatee. Bands of skin are at the sides of the face. A label at the top states "INDIAN DANCE MASK / YUKON 1910."
A relatively conical bark piece with a flattened side. The outside is red-brown, and the inside is light brown. There is a fold over the tip and stitched along the side.
The brown wood mask (part a) is a concavely curved elongated oval which tapers to a point at both the top and bottom. At the centre of the mask, there is carved a small round face with a forehead painted black, circular pupils cut out of the oval eyes, two small cut out nostrils, and an open cut out downward turned red mouth. Each pointed end of the mask is painted black, and there are black semi-triangles along the four sides of the central round face. There is a black-painted fin-like protrusion on each side of the top point of the mask, and a wood protrusion connected to each side of the bottom point of the mask with a metal wire. Many pegs (parts b-y) are inserted along the sides of the mask. The mask is connected to two curved wood sticks surrounding the mask in an oval formation by skin and fibre bands.
Rectangular baskets with vertical sides. Two handles go across shorter dimension; handles are formed from stiff rope with cedar bark coiled around it from end to end. Outer surfaces are decorated with four bands of lighter bark and a central diamond pattern in darker bark on each side.
High boots with slit at upper back. Leg portion is of thick black wool with blue braid at back and blue bias cotton cloth at top. Soles are of thick light brown leather closely stitched with two rows of angled stitches and regularly-shaped small stitches. Upper sole edged in blue-green leather, above which is piping and then seven rows of close stitches in various colours. Band of red wool around foot, with triangular of chain stitch embroidery over toes. Band of green wool fabric above this, with alternating orange and white circles embroidered at front and rectangle of blue, green and red fabric with embroidery around heel, with appliqué red and blue triangle above. Long embroidered red and blue triangle at front of shin.
Knife (a) with steel blade; facetted wooden handle with brass finial. Sheath (b) of leather lined with wood, with embossed silver at top and tip. Tip has embossed dragon, rocks and waves.
Two-dimensional figure of a person wearing regalia on legs, around waist, at chest, and on head; shoulders and elbows are articulated; arms are controlled by horn rods attached at one end to the hands. Another darker, horn rod has been split down most of length and height of puppet is contained between the two sides which follow line of the body and curl up around ear and through the hair. Regalia is in muted tones of gold, green, white, blue, and red and has detailed cutouts to resemble lattice; face is painted black with red detail; rest of skin is gold; hair is black and has many arc cutouts to resemble curly hair. Label on red space between the two feet says, "GATUTKATJA."
