Ink ? Box2189/19

Wooden box with a hinged lid that has a small hook fastener at the front. The outer pieces of wood that form the box are interlocking. The centre of the box contains a glass cylinder shaped ink well with a sprung leather(?) circular stopper on the inside of the lid. "Jerusalem" is written in black ink on the top of the lid.

Spindle WhorlNbz899

Round wooden spindle whorl with a hole in its centre. The top surface is convex with a flat ring around the hole and is painted with animal designs: raven and killer whale. The whales are predominantly orange with yellow accents, while the ravens are blue with orange accents. The back is slightly concave (with a small leather strap nailed into wood).

Boots1769/1 a-f

Pair of outer boots (parts a-b) with one pair of outer liners (c-d) and a pair of inner liners (e-f). The boots are made with fur soles and skin uppers, decorated with three bands of rickrack in red, green and dark blue. The seal skin legs have mottled grey seal fur at the base, a band of off-white seal fur, a band of dark grey seal fur, and another band of off-white seal fur at the top. The edge is trimmed with dark blue fabric through which is threaded a red, yellow, green and dark blue wool drawstring. The outer liners are made of off-white felted wool with sole and foot sections joined in green herringbone stitching and the top edged in a decorative blanket stitch. The inner liners are taller than the outer liners and are made from off-white felted wool with the top band embroidered with four floral motifs and edged with red and green zigzag design in wool yarn.

One of two fragments (part b) demonstrating fur decoration. The sampler has alternating strips of white and brown caribou fur sewn together with sinew. At the end the pattern starts to form a v-shape. The stitching is visible on the back. There is one finished edge.

Rectangular wall hanging coarsely woven with light yellow-brown wool around the border and light yellow-brown mixed with off-white fibre at the centre. There are tassels of a different wool woven into the bottom row. The same wool is woven across the top. Blue 'Salish Weaving' tag sewn to back.

Dream Catcher1671/2

Circular object consisting of a leather covered metal ring. There is a leather loop at the top for hanging, and two dangling strips with blue-dyed feathers at the end. String created a web-like design in the centre of the loop, threaded with seven red beads and one black one.

Hat with a circular top, cylindrical sides, all lined with quilted cloth. There is a circle of fur inserted in the centre of the crown and a thick band of fur trims the bottom. The crown is decorated with diamond motif beading, while the sides have one diamond and a floral design. The top and side are joined by piping.
