Birch bark basket with attached lid. Quillwork of a large flower with pink and red petals, green stems and green leaves on both the side and lid. The basket is cylindrical with an overlaid scalloped section around the top, formed around a spruce root(?) rim. The side is stitched, lid is hinged and bottom is attached with sinew. The lid can be tied shut with hide ties.

Gourd Container3643/1

Gourd container with attached lid, round bottom, and a long slender neck that curves. Leather lid covers circular opening, and has beaded stripes along the top and bottom edges; done in light green, red, dark blue, orange, and white. Lid is attached to long hide strip that is stitched along the back of gourd, acting as a handle; skin strip is looped at end. Groupings of stripes decorate length of strap; done in dark blue, red, orange, and white.

Moccasins3635/6 a-b

Pair of hide moccasins with high ankle wraps, long tongues, and knotted laces; laces are threaded through ankle wraps and secure at front. Different beadwork designs along top edges of ankle wraps, sides of moccasins, vamps and uppers. Designs on ankle wraps are alternating large and small stepped triangles; done in red, light blue, white, and dark blue. Alternating circles and inverted triangles along sides; done in light blue and red. Toes have large red flowers, facing outward; light green and yellow highlights throughout. Vamps are outlined in dark blue, white and red lines; smaller flower in centre, done in dark blue, red, and white. Soles have bifurcated ends with holes through their centres. Edges of ankle wraps are scalloped; interior of moccasins are unlined.

Model Canoe3635/1 a-c

Model sturgeon-nosed bark canoe (part a) with two wooden paddles (parts b-c). Canoe hull has a long, pointed bow and stern, creating sharp angles towards opening. Body is shaped with rib and slat frames; lashed together with bark and plant fibre. Metal wire along underside of stern; small hide tie towards middle of canoe along left side. One thwart across middle of canoe opening. Paddles have rectangular blades with flattened handles; designs painted in light red and dark blue across front and back of blades. Smaller paddle (part b) has connected diamonds with crosses through them on front; horizontal stripes across back. Larger paddle (part c) has zigzags painted and incised across front of blade; chevrons done across back.

Gloves3635/3 a-b

Pair of gauntlet-style hide gloves with flaring cuffs that cover the forearm. Long fringe extends from outer edges of cuffs; small triangles protrude from outer edges of section that covers back of hand. Cuffs are entirely covered in beadwork panels. Central designs are of golden horses inside black horseshoes on light blue ground; horses have light grey manes and white spots on their foreheads. Golden triangles extend from edges of the light blue section; black beads fill rest of space on cuffs. Sleeves of gloves have straight and zigzag beaded lines; done in gold with black outlines. Interior of cuffs are lined with striped fabric; rest of gloves are unlined.
