Ookpik. Toy owl made from brown seal skin, with hair directed downward on front and up at back, causing bird colour to change slightly. Head is large, body flaring out slightly at shoulders. Eyes are large circles of leather, with a small leather triangle below to serve as a beak. Feet are also leather and have three toes. Suede base is round and stitched to body.
Wire and fur “ice worm” toy. A long piece of animal skin with the fur on it has been sewn around a long length of wire, which emerges from both ends. The fur is thick with long hair, in shades of brown with off-white. An oblong head has been created out of hide and protrudes from one end of the tail, with leather antennae, eyes, nose and beard, and a red felt tongue.
Basket made of cedar root wrapped slats. Base is a long, thin rectangle with rounded corners, sides flare slightly outward toward the rim. The decoration on the body is alternating horizontal rows of black and red cherry bark, as well as six spaced out black squares (three rows wide) of imbrication on each side. Two hide strap handles are attached just below the rim on the long sides.
Basket is rectangular but with rounded corners; sides flare out somewhat from base to rim. Made of sewn coils of wrapped cedar root bundles. Among the horizontal rows of the body are two rows of imbricated diamond shaped designs near the top and a single line of gammadion crosses near the bottom. Several thongs of hide are attached as loops through the basket near the rim; a braided fibre cord with a wide handle is also attached near the rim. The tumpline handle is woven with pink and brown wool in a diagonal pattern.
Pair of plain, round, tin metal earrings with metal hoops attached at tops and covered with material. Part a has leather covering the hoop, and part b has brown-yellow rubber covering the hoop. The small groove in each earring is filled with dirt in some areas.
Highly decorated and carved talking stick, or speaker's staff, accompanied by deer hooves (parts b-k). Stick has deeply incised figures (top to bottom) of a thunderbird with wings extended above head, a killer whale, a male wearing a spruce root hat and holding a long stick in his right hand and a rock(?) in his left hand, and a snake. A binding of leather with suspended deer hooves separates the killer whale and the male figure.

Hair of wool is sewn onto the head with ends braided in ponytails. Amautik parka is made from canvas, with embroidered decoration along hem and wrists, and a blue and red belt tied at waist. A light cotton robe with decoration similar to the parka is slung through the belt at back. Doll wears a pink and white gingham skirt over a lace underskirt. Boots are leather, topped with a felt cuff and fur trim. The knit figure of an infant (part b) wrapped in a pink and blue blanket, its facial features embroidered in black thread, rides in a hood pouch attached to the mother’s parka at the neck.

Black wool is attached to head for hair with a long ponytail at back. Doll’s parka and pants are made from half-tanned leather. Jacket has an amaut pouch attached at back for carrying a small child. Jacket shoulders have a fringe of beading, and beads are also attached at wrists, on amaut, and along hem front and back just above a short dense leather fringe. Pants are beaded at bottom, and end just above leather boots that have a heavy covering of fur.
Doll with pink jacket. Male doll has hair and facial features embroidered in black thread, and a slightly protruding nose. A deep, pointed hood edged with white wool can be lifted to cover the head. Jacket is made of dark pink felt edged with green at hem and wrists. Fur mittens emerge from the sleeves. Cotton pants in khaki green are tucked into tall boots made from fur and suede with a decorated felt cuff and red and green ties.
Doll with fur trimmed tunic. Large female doll has a leather face with protruding nose; eyes, brows and mouth are embroidered in black thread. A deep hood lined with long animal fur can be lifted to completely cover the head and face. This is sewn to the tunic which is made of a flowered fabric and edged around hem and wrists with fur. A wide knit belt in red and orange with tasseled ends is fastened around the doll’s waist. Legs are made of stuffed blue felt with tall leather-soled boots on the feet. Inuktitut syllabics are stitched around the the cuff of the right boot.
