Figure1340/1

Carving of a bird in black stone. The head of the bird is narrow and tapers at the end to form the bird's beak. Two circular etched dots in the centre of the head form the eyes and two small etched lines on the bird's beak form the nostrils, all of which are light grey in colour. The body of the bird is much wider than the head. The body bulges in the centre and curves down to create the bird's wings and tail flap. Each wing has three indented grooves that taper in from the outer edge, creating a scalloped look. The tail flap is oval in shape and has seven lines engraved onto the soapstone surface which are light grey in colour.
