Part a is a steel knife with a black coloured cow horn handle. Handle has two sets of four metal bands alternating with three black coloured bands. On the bottom of the knife handle there is a circular piece of metal with two black circle outlines by the edge of the metal circle. Part b is a camel skin sheath that is sewn up one side (with sinew?). Near the opening, on either side of the stitching there are two flaps of extra skin. On the tip there is a cylindrical wrap of skin. There are burnt geometric and linear designs on both sides and top of the sheath.
Short, hooked metal blade set into a short wooden handle.
Knife (part a) with an L-shaped wooden handle, incised at top. Between handle and blade is a metal band which is mostly gold coloured, but silver underneath. The blade is shaped: it begins narrow at the handle end, then extends on one side convexly, narrowing again at the tip to a point. The upper edge of the blade runs to a gentle peak at the centre and then sloping down again to the tip. The scabbard (part b) is made of two pieces pegged and lashed together. On both sides is an incised line, painted black, that starts 2.5 cm from the top and runs the length of the scabbard, terminating in a black triangle. There are 4 dark brown braided bands encircling the scabbard, approx. 5.5 cm apart. (A fifth is missing.)
Knife (part a) with pointed, wavy-edged blade. Blade has three incised perpendicular lines near handle end, with a deep notch cut into the top edge of the blade, as far as the second incised line. The blade is set into the handle at a 45 degree angle. The wooden handle widens out into a horn-like handle shape. The blade is secured into the handle with a stainless steel ring. The scabbard (part b) is made of malacca wood which appears to have many lengthwise dark and light stripes throughout. The scabbard 'throat' is made of the same dark wood as the handle. The area where the two woods join appears to have been broken and glued back together.
