Ornate cutting tool made from cast brass which has been finished with a file; cutting blade made of steel; has a steel leaf spring. Rosette decoration. Turned effect finials on handles.

Hollow, dark brown wood shaft has slight swelling at butt to act as a mouthpiece and the metal lance-olate leaf- shaped point is fastened to the other end with three sets of stem ? binding, the lower two of which are wrapped around four times while the top one of which is wrapped around six times.

Ceremonial knife with a long, straight blade and a dark brown wooden handle. Handle decorated with braided bands; blade has a coating of old varnish and the end has two barbs.

Rectangular basket with splint foundation and coiled elements of cedar root. Fully imbricated in grass with red and black cherry bark. Foot is beaded in red cherry bark in three coiled rows. Slat bottom. Has steel handles. Fully imbricated and beaded. Designs in black and red cherry bark that consist of zigzags that stretch to the full height of the basket in black/red/black. Also diamonds in red and black with geometric shapes in between.

Basket headdress base covered with hair, hide, metal band, two tusks and 6 black and white hornbill feathers for decoration.

Small, dagger-like knife (a) with sheath (b). Both handle and the end of the sheath have a notched design and three holes. Welded and forged steel, carved wood. Sheath made in two pieces and bound together by bands of sheet nickel. Simple curved handle with plain ferrule.

Curved blade sword with a blunt end. Handle has lozenge brass design and braid pattern.

A short, wakizashi style sword with a wooden handle and sheath. Handle features black silk cords tied decoratively (tsuka-ito ) over a grey sharkskin covering and a pair of menuki (sword fittings), one on each side of the handle. Sheath has inlaid horn on a black ground. The guard has a prunus design.

Knife (a) with sheath (b) in which a small blade (c) is inserted. Knife has a curved blade etched (?) on one side with series of irregular, dark, patch-like shapes. The blade passes through a silver-coloured steel (?) sheath, with the tang (two-holed) inserted into the wooden handle, passing through a gold lacquered wooden guard. Each side of the handle is inlaid with an ivory plaque carved with a dragon figure; lotus carved ivory at end . Sheath (b) of wood with gold lacquer bamboo leaf design, inlaid with insects and plants of ivory, mother-of-pearl, and stones, with ivory end; wood badly split, inlays crudely repaired. Small blade, curved, is missing handle; stained red.

Adze with blade made from a file. Leading edge flared to rounded sharp edge. Trailing edge bent up to conform to handle. Carved whale bone handle riveted to blade. Handle has protruding, carved head and beak of a bird.
