Platter2873/1

Oval, black-grey carved argillite platter. Engraved image of a Wasgo (sea wolf) type creature covers the upper surface; the creature has a whale's dorsal and pectoral fin and tail, but also has arms and legs with long claws on the ends. The edge of the platter has an engraved rope-like border decoration.

Ceremonial Adze2838/1 a-b

Carved ceremonial adze with small carved stand (part b) to hold blade for upright display. Adze is decorated mainly in three sections: at the top appear to be two entwined creatures, both with circular shell eyes; at centre of handle is another carved creature with circular shell eyes, and another is carved at the butt end. Adze has a long narrow dark green stone blade, which is lashed to the handle with a light yellow-white twine. The stand is wood with a slot carved for the blade and decorative designs carved into the sides.

Scanning the Ice for Seals2858/1

Small sculpture of hooded hunter's head and jagged rocks. Finely carved white stone face is inside a black stone hood with etched lines showing fur around face. The hood ends in a pointed tip at top and off to one side at the bottom edge. The carved head is situated over a marbled white stone base with rough, pointed edges on three sides; flat on bottom. Artist inscription etched into base.
