Large staff built on a wood armature with an iron blade (part a) and phallic handle (part b) with loose coiled metal (part c). The wooden hilt is studded, wrapped in iron with iron cap. The blade tapers in towards the tip. Towards the top there is a small square cutout with a cross etched on each side. Above and below, the thin area is wrapped in iron. The blade itself is also etched with various designs, however the metal is rusted.
Circular ivory bangle bracelet with rounded sides. The upper edge tapers in while the bottom edge is flat. Just below the upper edge, decorated with three rows of small holes inset with tiny metal studs. The inside has a dark brown patina.
Small hand bell with a small flat-headed humanoid figure as a handle. The bell gradually widens to the rim, which has a single decorative belt. The body is decorated with two simple human faces, each facing opposite directions. The body clearly shows how the bell was formed with a very apparent seam. The metal clapper is composed of a series of three different metal loops attached to one another - the second appearing to be a more recent addition.
Dip net composed of a long pole handle, hoop and net. Net composed of woven cotton string. Hoop composed of two pieces of bent wood, tied together at the top and attached to the pole by two wooden pegs, black coated wire and cord. Net suspended from hoop by six metal rings (three on each side), fibre and wire bindings at top. A small piece of dark blue fabric and light green fabric are tied in the net, as well as some pieces of a rough unwound plant fibre rope. A long cord is attached to a metal ring on both sides of the hoop. A piece of off-white string is tied to the pole near the end.
Carved door panel made of two wooden rectangular panels, held together by three horizontal wooden boards nailed to their backs. Right side of left panel is jagged, it extends slightly over the right panel. Left panel has spindle extending from bottom left corner. Top left corner of left panel has round extension. Left panel has carving of large male figure with his hands upraised, holding ceremonial pots in each hand. Below him are four figures, in two rows of two, facing inward and carrying staffs. Right panel has carving of large female figure with her hands upraised, holding ceremonial pots in each hand. On her left there is a small figure holding a curved object. On her right there is a small figure with characteristics of the deity Eshu-thumb in mouth and phallic hairstyle. Below the large female there are five figures, two rows with three above two, facing inward and holding offering pots. Three of the five figures have the deity Eshu's hairstyle. Between the two figures on the bottom is a carving of a divination tray, known as Ifa. Tray is circular, made of cross-hatched lines. All designs carved in high relief. There is a small square cut out on the right panel between two figures holding offering pots. Nails securing boards on back are visible from front. Three nails for each board. The nails in the centre are straight, the nails on either side are bent over, to lie flat against the panels. Additional nail along right edge of right panel, bent to lie flat.
The plain, brown, cylindrical handle (a) has a simple horizontal band of geometric decoration that consists of a triple outlined square at either side at one end and a pineapple-like stone head (a) at the other. The head is held in place by a woven band (b) that has a downward tapering piece of bone along one side. The head has a hollow, cylindrical hole through it for the handle. Pineapple-type. The dark head has four horizontal rows of nine pyramidal protrusions all around.
