Swamp grass covered dark brown crockery ceramic pot with lid (part b). Warp: cedar bark. Weft: natural and aniline-dyed swamp grass (purple, green, yellow). Sides (part a) and lid (part b) are wrapped twined weave with openwork of crossed warp wicker weave. Base of the pot (part a) has a small centre of checker work with plain twined or wicker-weave periphery. Sides of the pot (part a) have a design that consists of five equally spaced purple flowers with green leaves in between bordered by the two bottom bands of openwork weave with a compound band that consists of purple, yellow, and purple above the third openwork band. Lid (part b) has a plain twined handle, a band in blue and yellow around the sides, and a band with triangular edges in middle.

HatA7305

An off-white skin hat that has a long bristle-like red tassel at one end and is painted with human faces and animals with bark and yarn decoration. The top of the hat has a central green turtle outlined by red with an inward pointing triangle at either end and a black line that has green diagonal lines at either side. Under the tassel, around the side, there is a human face that has tapering oval red in black eyes with black brows above that have red lashes, a light blue nose, and a tapering oval red in black mouth. Around the rest of the sides, there are the following: a human face that has tapering oval red in black eyes with black and red brows above, a black nose, and a tapering oval red in black mouth; and an animal that has a green and yellow centred body outlined by black with circular yellow eyes and a red mouth. Decorated all around the sides with cedar bark along the top and red yarn around the bottom.

Tapering swamp grass basket (part a) with a lid (part b). Base has a red-brown checkerwork centre with wicker weave and plain twined weave on edges. Sides are wrapped twined weave. The main design of the basket (part a) consists of three sets of bands with the central cover band in blue and purple with yellow in a zig zag pattern, a top band of pink-red outlined with blue-green, and a bottom band of pink-red outlined with purple. The lid (part b) has a three part rotational design in pink-red and purple.

Two double bands of green stripes, three double bands of purple and orange block bands, with two groupings of purple and red flowers. Upper rim of basketry flares outwards from the rim of the vase.
